Was at the game and was a terrific game to watch. Townsville dominant in the first half and Mackay in the 2nd. Mackay had their chances to apply more scoreboard pressure at critical times but missed their opportunity. Aaron Wade was easily best on ground in 2nd half, worked his butt off, wins his own footy and 2nd/3rd efforts terrific, uses the footy well to. The other one to standout was Nathan Peters, won some clearances after 1/2 time and is an elite kick, he ran out of puff at the end though. How have these boys been going at club level?

Azza Wade has had a pretty good start to the year from what l hear, he is a future League Medallist if he can steer his aggression in the right way & be more discipline.

Nathan Peters hasn't been in Mackay long , from Tazy, has been a good pick up for the North Mackay Saints & is assistant coach l think.
Running Half back flanker/onballer.

Watched 'The Franchise' run out of legs on the weekend. PH, you looked like you were carrying an injury or simply unfit???

Yeah l pulled me calf at Training during the week & wasn't planing on playing but Big Bazza pulled out so l decided to play.

A very dissappointing loss considering we lead all day but to the Saints credit they did enough to stay in range & kicked a couple of late goals in time on to steal the win.

It was a big improvement on how we performed against the Eagles which was pleasing & we need to improve again to save a hidding from the rampaging Hawks whom we face this week ay Harrup.

Thanks for that, PH:thumbsu:

Probably need to get rid of the Premiership Captain/Coach 2009 thing by now l think.

Who did magpies have out? Thought they had a few in from out of town, cooper, hungry and deano.

They are out of town but still playing for us.

Absent from Saturday was Last years league medalist Heath(Mugsy) Thiele, Big Bazza Goodwin, Nic muscat , KP, other ruck man & a couple other senior regulars but that's footy.
Hawks had some quality missing too.
Not often you get everyone fit & available on the same day, every club faces that.
Fact is We were'nt good enough on the day.
Last time we met, Hawks beat us by 56pts so you could say Saturdays 11 point loss was a good improvement.

Dont think the coach would be happy you display names on here:thumbsdown:.

The Hawks were challenged & stood up when it counted which is what top teams do hence why they are still undefeated.

The Saints got a fright up at Moranbah only winning by 15pts.

Moranbah cant be taken lightly this season out there, they have picked up some good recruits that are only playing home games.

Saints are the only remaining foundation club of AFL in Mackay. Well run & successful, they have played in 8 of the last 11 senior grand finals - winning 5. Runners up in 1st & 2nds in 2011. 2012 won 3 out of 4 and still improving with new recruits on the way from Bris & Melb in coming weeks. Get on board! By the way, the cafe your Mrs has is one of the best in town now that it has new owners!

Can anybody give me some info on the saints, what sort of club is it and are they any good? Im planen on moven up from vic in a few weeks because my mrs owns a cafe up there. Also does anyone know when clearances close?

l believe Eastern Swans are a well run club and have picked up a few new recruits, could be a real dark horse this year by all reports.

Was abit surprised with the Hawks v Saints Score last Saturday, I thought Saints might of been a chance in the wet Conditions but 13.9 to 0.2 tells us otherwise.
That's a fair hiding in the rain, so Hawks must of played really bad to beat the Magpies by only 11pts on a sunny day the week before & to only register 8goals.
