Sounds good! Reckon we'll finish up tonight, and then like a normal draft, get everyone informed and start it tomorrow if that works for everybody else?

Works for me.

Pick 57 Sydney Miller Bergman
Was going to be my last pick, a little more speculative now.

At pick 63 Brisbane selects Jai Serong

POSITION: Tall Utility 192cm 80kg

SNAPSHOT: “A skinny tall with plenty of upside, Serong shows great ability overhead but also some nice traits at ground level having played in most positions this year, showing his versatility in each third of the ground.”

It’s hard to believe that Jai Serong is the brother of Fremantle rising star Caleb Serong, with both sharing very different looks and playing styles; Caleb being the shorter and stockier midfielder, whereas Jai is a taller and lankier key position player. However, they do show some similarities in their leaps and overhead marking, along with their clean hands at ground level which is what has seen Jai spend time in the midfield despite his size. It is hard to give a player comparison to Jai as he has played so many different roles, but perhaps one could be Charlie Ballard, who also played numerous positions at Under 18s level and has now settled at Gold Coast as a defender.

I think Bergman can play, his body size is my main question mark, has to probably find 20kg yet, intercept marking is his strength but hes not going to outmark AFL players when hes 50kg in the wet.

That's alright and I am going to pick a kid who I simply can't believe is still on the board.

Adelaide selects Lewis Rayson with 62.

Kid is a quality player and so much better as a footballer and prospect than Alistair Lord (sorry to blaspheme) hahaha. Really smooth mover with the ball in hand and he also has a very nice neat left foot. Great reader of the play across half back and can seriously take an intercept mark. Makes fantastic decisions in traffic and may have scope to go into the midfield at the next level or at least on the wing. I have him ahead of a number of SA kids already taken. He has a little Rolls Royce about him when in possession (dare I say it a bit pendlebury like but only a bit)

Dammit, was hoping he'd get to my rookie pick

Excuse my ignorance, but are these rookies the "leftovers"? Not sure if there is a special category of players to select here.
Our list does not appear to be completed on page 1, but clearly, those last selections have been made

All good. Im in. Are all NGA players considered to be open slather now for our rookie draft as they made it through the main draft unpicked?

Will update list later (only did the majority on the previous page) :)

Yep, it's basically whatever is left from pretty much anywhere. I'd say probably not any DFA's that have already been publicly committed/recommitted to, but everyone else is fair game :)

Sorry guys...

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware (due to being in the same boat), power has been out in our area, so there's been no way to communicate, haha.

With Rookie Pick 2, GC selects Power NGA - Jase Burgoyne.

Outside mid/wing type with ability to go forward. Unselected by Port in the main draft and decent chance to get a gig up at GC.

foodles05 you're up next :)

Have hardly had power all day and busy most of the weekend, will probably have to get someone else to cover the Sydney picks.

We can resume Monday, as it seems like a lot are in the same boat :) No rush on this one, as it's just a bit of fun, and not really a pressing event like the main draft

With the number 3 rookie pick the Crows select Jordan Lukak.

Lukak is a forward ruck who has improved dramatically from his draft year. Really good speed for someone who is 197cm. Good at ground level and most importantly has become really competitive and aggressive this year. Has shown the ability to pinch hit very effectively in the ruck in the games against WA.

Rookie Draft

1. North Melb. Corey Preston
2. Gold Coast. Jase Burgoyne.
3. Adelaide. Jordan Lukak.
4. Hawthorn. Cooper Hamilton

The next 6 picks...

Pick5 Carlton up Pure_Ownage

5. Carlton - Pure_Ownage
6. Richmond - Pure_Ownage
7. Fremantle - Turbocat
8. St Kilda - Turbocat
9. West Coast - CleverCount
10. Essendon - Vdubs
