Well after all that, I realized there's still 4 guys on my list I want, so after much deliberation the Geelong Cats will go with...

Pick 33. Blake Howes

In contrast to Zac Taylor, Howes is a well rounded mid who has some great athleticism and is more of that big bodied protoype mid/wing/forward type. Very high ceiling, and reckon he'll fit in well at the Cats

ShaunWDT, you're up!

well thats one gone. I could see us liking him.

Pick 34 Charlie Dean
Wanted Alleer here and rate him the better talent but Dean is the one that has got through so will take him to fill the list need as I dont expect he'd get through to 40, provides much needed support for Tom McCartin and also has scope to play as a forward.

Great pick. Really like this kid.

Pick 34 Charlie Dean

Noice. He was definitely in consideration for my next pick...but I'm gonna have to go with who I rate as one of the Top 5 rebounding defenders in this draft, with speed and class to boot (plus he has a name we can all get behind).

At Pick 35, the GFC welcome -

Alastair Lord

Probably higher than he will go in the normal draft, but I have to pick him now as we are crying out for a rebounding defender - and there's only 1 or 2 decent ones left in the draft. Has speed to burn, has great disposal and decision making, and has the perfect name to be a 200+ hall of famer at the Cats - what's not to love?

foodles05 you're up!

To be honest I am ashamed that everyone apart from Shadow89 hasn't tanked this mock draft to ensure Geelong gets the greatest surprise draft hand of all time! And you call yourself fans:rolleyes::p

Yeah we've all given the great draft hand to friggin Richmond of all teams :tearsofjoy:

Adelaide with the next pick take Shay Linke.

Although I have already taken a mid with our first pick I still think even with the addition it is the area most lacking. Look pretty well stocked with big youth forward and back but seriously need new big mids.

I think he could be one of the steals of the draft. He is a big 190cm mid that initially I was really unsure of regarding his speed/movement/running in general. However this year he has proved that is absolutely no issue. Not only that he can climb into a pack and take big marks like Bont/Fyfe and other tall mids. He is a smooth mover who always creates time but whilst playing with great intensity. Quality inside ball winner who can create multiple damaging clearances throughout a game. He also has elite hands which are really creative around stoppage. Didn't look at all out of place playing league footy and absolutely looks like the sort of player whose game raises as the level does. Good kid old school footballer. He's a bit like a Constable who can run but can also play forward and take contested marks.

Heard a little bit about this kid, but haven't actually seen any footage. You're pretty in with the Adelaide draft crowd, what do the scouts say about him in terms of upside/range?

This is a seriously tough one, and there's 3 or 4 who are all around the mark, but I think I have to go with best available, and just get someone who is a KPP for our stocks now that Hendo is gone and Hawk is close to on his way out.

After much debate, the Geelong Cats select...

Pick 37. Jack Williams

At this point, talent is getting speculative, and there's sweet FA pure KPD's left on the board who are highly rated. This guy is by far the least speculative of the KPP's left, and at best is a top 30 prospect who looks to slide. Williams is a swingman that can play either forward or back, and can take ruck contests too. Kicking 40 goals in 15 WAFL games is a serious effort, and was also one of the squad chosen for the Academy side earlier this year that faced us in a scratch match. Has enormous upside, and will give us some much better key depth in both the forward and back lines, almost immediately.

I'm actually not sure because for some reason I haven't asked recruiters as much about him as others. Upside would be the biggest question mark because he isn't explosive and his 1 wood is probably his size which isn't as attractive as other things. I think he may be just someone who does everything well and it's more of a safe pick than an exciting pick. If I wanted to go right out on a limb I would have taken Harvey Harrison and I thought strongly about it. Clearly the kid with the most upside (in comparison to where he is seen by most "experts") at the moment. Also Harrison's athletic gifts are seriously seriously elite so that always makes me feel more comfortable about how they transition.

Interesting. I think Keays showed just how good a 'safe' pick can be - as you need those 'meat and potatoes' players that can give you that solid output every game, to make a really decent side. Will be really interesting to see where he goes in the actual thing...

Re. Harrison, I know you've been huge on him and you've still got your pick in the 50's...so there's still a chance...but you may have been too vocal about him, so now we know how good he is :p

Lot to love looking at those highlights (admittedly haven't seen too much of him). Looks really composed for a KPD, strong in the contest, great vision, decent kick and excellent closing speed. Definitely looks a solid prospect - and I know a lot on our board are keen on him too

With Alleer gone hes the only key defender left that I actually think is any good, I'm hoping Geelong ends up with one of those guys to be honest.

I'm hoping we trade up and somehow get Bazzo myself! If Aleer or Dean are left though, that still looks like a solid outcome

Looking forward to my last pick, as I've covered what we need, it's a complete free hit, and I can just choose the guy I want the most! Reckon we only have 4 picks in the actual thing, given we'll probably take Schlensog and that will also force us to trade up, so now it's just a low risk/high upside pick that I'll be going with for our last when it comes :)

No one ever accused me of being too sharp :p

It's so funny how people see things differently. I have never seen any vision of him ever and I straight away thought gee he looks cumbersome I wonder how he tested. That's the beauty of this whole thing and why people get paid pretty decent money to make these decisions because it really is so subjective still.

6.11 2K time trial which was 10th from all the players tested is the only thing I have been able to find.
