As I understand it .... I can not match it at pick 38

Of course, Fremantle will also likely miss out on Jesse Motlop, who can only be matched on with a bid after pick 40.

Oh wow didnt know that odd rule i just thought anything after pick 20. Ah well Score! will be interesting to see where he gets picked up given all teams can snap him up before pick 40

*Disappointed to miss out on Jack Williams the prior pick i feel like WCE will want to target a tall prospect at this pick on the day. However they will be tempted if there is a crafty Xfactor player available (like motlop) around this pick given they will have taken 2 MIDs with their first two.
Theres still a few real promising prospects still available imo*:clapping:

Motlop cant be matched by freo until pick41 onwards so hes yours.

Had a hunch he might go soon, but Motlop is a great get and suits you guys perfectly (also EXACTLY where I had him in my phantom)

Yer i couldnt not pick him up. Really is a talent and great to watch. He's super confident in his skills too so doesnt panic under pressure be it in the goal square or around the ground. He's great around stoppages so in the future i can imagine him running through the midfield at times, very similar to how Liam Ryan pushes up the ground and sets up the play going forward (alot of the time ending up in his own hands back in the 50). So im very chuffed if Eagles could snap him up prior to freo - who will have Benning as a NGA too :thumbsu:

Nearly took him at 34 but didnt really feel Sydney needed his type of player I doubt hell last this long on the night, would be a steal at pick 38.

Yep I was the exact same, as we're inundated with small forward types now. I wouldnt complain if we got him, but he's definitely not what we need. Same reason I didn't get Judson Clarke, or Toby Conway (as we have two developing rucks and don't need another right now)

Pick 40
Corey Warner
Sydney add another Warner to their ranks.
Balanced Inside/Outside Midfielder

SNAPSHOT: “Warner is a hard running midfielder who can play both inside and out, breaking forward with purpose and a penetrating left-foot kick.”

There is another ‘C. Warner’ running around in Western Australia, this time of the Corey variety after elder brother Chad was drafted to Sydney in 2019. The hard running midfielder skippered Aquinas College in the PSA football competition this year, while also cracking WAFL League level for four-consecutive games with East Fremantle. He then returned to the Sharks’ Colts side and was a key figure in their run to the preliminary final, providing plenty of run and willing his side forward in big moments. Able to play on either side of midfield, Warner is most often utilised on the wing and featured there for Western Australia’s Under 19s, capping off a strong season where he showed great potential across all competitions. He was also a standout draft combine performer, notching state-high scores in the 2km time trial (6:20), standing vertical jump (76cm), and running vertical jump (100cm).

STRENGTHS:

+ Endurance
+ Run and carry
+ Kick penetration
+ Inside-outside balance
+ Burst
IMPROVEMENTS:

– Kicking consistency
– Composure
A productive forward runner, Warner leans on his balanced running capacity to get things going on the attack. He compliments a purposeful first five steps with the work rate to run all day, covering plenty of ground at a high intensity. This allows him to play either side of midfield, generating run and carry on the outer, but also having the toughness and burst to break away from congestion when stationed at stoppages.

Sydney would be shouting from the rooftops if he lasts 'til their pick here. Think he'd be happy too, haha. Would have picked him with one of our 30's picks, but didn't want to go overboard with the mids that might not get a look in straight away

At Pick 41 Brisbane select Ned Long

POSITION: Inside Midfielder 192cm 88kg

SNAPSHOT: “A strong-bodied midfielder with great endurance who also loves a goal, Long was one of the most damaging players in the NAB League before injury cut his season short.” – Ed Pascoe

Ned Long is a tall and strong midfielder who uses his size to advantage in the midfield and up forward, while also proving hard to stop around the ground with his powerful running. Injury cut his year unfortunately short right before he could represent Vic Metro and help enhance his draft stocks like teammate Josh Ward was able to. Sharing comparisons to Josh Dunkley and Kyle Langford in terms of size and ability to play midfield and forward, it is that exact aptitude forward of centre that is his staking point compared to other taller midfielders Matthew Johnson and Mitch Knevitt.

year of the cat you're up

Looking forward to my last pick, as I've covered what we need, it's a complete free hit, and I can just choose the guy I want the most! Reckon we only have 4 picks in the actual thing, given we'll probably take Schlensog and that will also force us to trade up, so now it's just a low risk/high upside pick that I'll be going with for our last when it comes :)
Freo sound keen on Blake

Pick 43 - North select Sam Banks

write ups later. Flat out at work

Edit: Liked the look (and sound) of Banks for a while. Quick, excellent again by foot - he'll make a terrific attacking half back or even offensive mid if developed to play more an on ball role.

With MacDonald and Banks, I've taken two guys I'd love to see the Cats draft.

They can't rely on Hamling and Pearce getting out there consistently would make alot of sense for them as depth.

Mmm but he's got more chance of slotting in for us straight away if he wants it. Whereas, Freo are stacked in the backline, so he'll be behind a few - Logue, Hamling, B. Cox and Pearce all likely ahead of him as KPD's
