I love the stats, always have a good look at them..
While im sure you get some great data elsewhere.. Champion etc.. i just look at the AFL site after the game.
AFL Sucks for providing stats.
Inside 50s are rather meaningless nowdays... its more about time inside 50 with the way the press works. (not shown)
And Clangers dont seem to correlate into disposal efficiency? do clangers count as clangers or are they included in disposal efficiency?
Also, what constitutes a clanger?
Is it a mistake or bad skill? or a brain fart? whos to say? it is so ambiguous and subjective depending on the statistician.
ANd i demand more clarity around contested possessions too... id also like to see effective taps to teammates V ineffective..
Id like to see stats on ineffective tackles, Effective tackles and rewarded tackles (frees from tackles)
Contested marks seems to be a complete unknown as well.... What makes a effective contested mark... a chop of the arms will come up as a free kick... yet it is contested... but a player next to you who provides little contest is considered contest??
Mtrs gained are not included in there stats either.. which is odd.
Realy the AFL should have alot better data with the stats.
