But Bucks is like the Duracell bunny, he won;t retire for another four years![]()
Remember standing in the outer at Vic Park in the late 80s early nineties and watching big Ronnie McKeown in the number 5 guernsey.
Vividly remember that he used to dominate at full forward in the 2nds. The crowd at the Yarra Falls end would chant Ronnie..Ronnie whilst awaiting the main game.
Pretty handy player Ronnie, either fwd or back. Would be a handy swing man these days although his body shape (think Lance Whitnell mould) prob would not be suited to todays game. Pretty stiff to miss out on being a Premiership player in 1990.
Ronnie would have finished up in the early nineties prob a little before Bucks came to the club in 1994. I am thinking that Jason McCartney may have worn number 5 for a couple of seasons whilst he was at the Pies, between McKeown finishing and Bucks arriving.
Any clarification??
What!!! Buckley = J. Cloke's number??? Maybe let the captain wear 5, like at Port the captain wears one and Richmond the captain wears 17.Bucks would move to #34, his old Port Magpies number, to accomidate CJ.
Tails, McCartney was 12 for us, and big Ronnie can be seen playing rubbish grades of cricket for Yarrambat every Saturday.![]()
