Watching Brady yesterday got me thinking AFL isn't a very playmaker oriented sport, which is a shame. Sure, Pendlebury and Mitchell are as creative as they come, but hardly creative as opposed to Brady, Ryan, or even Iniesta, Xavi ect tbh. I would love to watch a trial game of Aussie rules with an offside rule, would be some fantastic through balls and loft passes![]()
Rioli as a wide receiver with his acceleration and vertical leap.
But you gotta pick up the game young - in AFL we play a game where you always have to be ready to dispose of the ball, in the NFL, ball security is something hammered into kids at a young age and requires a very different technique that wouldn't be natural to adult AFL players now.

no they can't.A team can go from the worst in the league to the superbowl with a good quarter back though, too much of the game revolves around one player
The too skinny point isn't really significant. Obviously if they were playing in the NFL and not the AFL they would change their diet and exercise regimen. NFL players aren't just naturally that big and AFL players deliberately keep lean.pretty much nobody outside of special teams.
Jono Brown could have probably played as a Full Back back in the day but not many teams carry them on the roster these days.
AFL players are either too slow, too skinny or both. So much role discipline is required in the NFL which would be v hard for AFL players to adapt too.
is this thread not about AFL players moving to the NFL? NFL players aren't naturally that big. It takes them a long, long time to get to that shape. 3-4 years of college usually. The too skinny point isn't really significant. They'd simply fumble the ball forward to a running teammateBall security hey - so no bulldogs players then
Too small. Tight ends have elephant legs, hawkins' are twigsTom Hawkins would make a good Tight End
too slowTom Hawkins would make a good Tight End
Suggestions that Lynden Dunn will too.Ben Griffiths will surley try and become a punter once his AFL career is over.
