Cool. Now instead of extracting stills from one angle allegedly showing shadows, have a look at the footage taken from the other angle, as shown on the screen at the game and in the post match on the telecast. Not the footage where the ball crosses the post, the footage where you can actually see the ball pass to the right of the post.

I can’t believe this is even a discussion

"But to deal with that last moment, where the player acknowledges it's hit the post and the AFL, in a billion-dollar industry, can wreck seasons for football clubs that work too hard."

Firstly, Jenkins said he thought it hit the post he didn't acknowledge anything.
Secondly, Port lost the possessions, clearances, tackles, stoppages, marks in side 50, entries into forward 50 and scoring shots. Yet it is the AFL system that wrecked their season? Man up and say "we were beaten by a more committed side when our final spot was on the line" instead of sooking about a goal review.

Spot on.

Frame by frame? Are those two pics meant to be posted in the correct order of movement/frame out of curiosity? Because if you have it the wrong way around, people here can assume the second frame is the latter one and the ball is moving to the left of the goal post. When in reality the later frame is the first one, the ball is moving to the right side of the post, which is clearly obvious when you look at the slow motion replay and watch the direction the umpire is moving

No issues with the decision. In just about ANY sport that has replays, unless the decision on a score is clear cut to be overruled, the benefit of the doubt almost always goes towards the attacking team. There was nothing clear cut about any of the footages shown. Unfortunately unless the AFL comes up with some kind of built in sensors or some kind of heat/hot spot kind of technology, then all those close calls will always be contentious, depending if you're the got it right winning team or the we got screwed losing team.

Regardless Adelaide were the better team and Port had plenty of time to run out the game and steal it, or create more chances before that final goal. To base it on one decision well before the siren is a cop out. Fair enough if it was on the siren itself

Yeah I believe the pic was from the ascension of the kick before it came back

So you have no issue that in a billion dollar sport there was only one angle, looked at twice in a matter of seconds at half the time routinely given to these decisions and that it was not properly slowed down frame by frame nor zoomed in?

Cameras can shoot incredibly high frame rates and shoot in 4K (there has been 8k cameras for years now too) and we only broadcast in 1080p meaning you can digitally zoom in a fair bit and not lose quality. Yet anytime you see the broadcasters slow down or zoom in the quality goes to first Nokia camera phone levels of s**t because they aren’t making use of the technology available. That’s inexcusable.

This is a rubbish argument

Plenty of teams get the better of play but waste chances and lose games because of it. Port has done it and lost games. Adelaide had a chance to kick goals and have the game sealed long before that bad decision.

Yes the pics are backwards, there is no argument if ur went through the goals or not.
Only if it did or didn’t hit the post.

Monfries s**t at goal was a **** up that bounced the right way and got lucky and won you guys the match and you guys managed to find a way to "give a mouthful when you know you won it through a **** up".
Conveniently ignores Gray where the ball bounced backwards earlier in the same game.

Try not to tell people to suck s**t and EAD on the main board.

It wasn’t banter, you twit. It was abuse.

Next time stay out of it.

How?

He quoted me 3 mins before the end of the game bragging that our season was over. I quoted him back at the end reminding him he was wrong.

If you dish it, you should take it.

I didnt mention his circumstance once. You've got it wrong and to accuse me of abuse is downright offensive. Disgusting immaturity.

The only one who has gone personal and abusive is you just then.

By backwards you mean start of kick before it travels back to left?

A pic cannot be backwards.

Watch this until you can see the ball going through the goals (yes it may have touched the post) should only take you one viewing.
