Let's continue in here, the afl only care about their public image, not allowing clubs to celebrate life is the nanny state that this country has become
Communist state.

I did not know what you were on about until I get now clubs are not supposed to sing song after the match this weekend.

What this is about is not respect but a PR machine designed to focus on the Walsh aftermath and AFL kissing babies IMO.

I thought before Aust. was going commie, and not just this but other aspects in life has told me big brother is on the move.

All I can say is look out they are coming big time it seems without sounding alarmist:D, it is all adding up to the elite getting a grip on the strings or trying to unfortunately:cool:

At the end of the day its a song ... bloody good one, but still a song none the less. what has happened is a tragedy and i like how the CLUBS and AFL are behaving during this time valuing human life above sport/clubs
the question is are they valuing life or death?

I think AFL feel partly indirectly responsible for the death IMO as it was related to the apparent disconnect with the son from footy focus etc..

Singing the song may or may not be disrespectful.

Not singing the song would be absolutely respectful.

Actually it could also show AFL feeling a sense of guilt and need to show they care in an overaction, big brother style, where the minds of the bubble elite are going in overdrive with conflicts of interest like the brotherly love we see on the TV

No song, no bullshit, just respect and reflection. That's how it's done.
Bravo Pies and Hawks.

Oh, isn't it lovely, isn't it wonderful.....

I tell you what, that is fine but after the Hawks won. Not to recognise that in the typical song is a joke particularly as that is why they played the match.

So we will play the match, get the points, take the viewing publics revenue but not recognise why we are here? Yeah right, what a wan????

I tell you what Walsh what have thought it was a w... to!!!

It just suggests big brother runs the game and no competition exists at all. Its is all about making revenue from the public and any thought of a sport competition is secondary from HQ.

What is particularly bad is AFL HQ seemingly calling Geelong and Adelaide and suggesting this or that.

If Adelaide had of said they couldn't play from the players fair enough but to broadcast the AFL has made a decision just suggests there are no clubs in the AFL, the AFL clubs are just puppets and Walsh was not working for AFC, he was really working for AFL HQ.

The funny thing was Bruce Mcavaney saying he still lives in Adelaide near Walsh. That means most of the time he flys to Melbourne just to do the majority of his broadcasts on TV. Thats a joke because his comments are not worth a hell of a lot at all but he is not alone

Agree.
The usual suspects roll out their conspiracy theories when people work together to show respect for the untimely death of someone that devoted a large part of their life to the game.
It's just sad.
This thread is in such poor taste it is making us look bad, this one is making me angry.

You have no f.. idea.

How many funerals have you been to?

Most funerals celebrate ones life, not focus on the death!!!

Clearly you are not in touch with reality!!

Some don't even wear black at a funeral and songs are sung regularly

Understand we all have opinions, but some opinions are just mind boggling bizarre and you have to shake your head at how they are formed.

IMO the AFL got this right. Not hard to forego the song for a weekend as a show of respect.

You also have to admit, the kid who stabbed his father, on balance, got too precious about things in a moment for whatever reason.

There is a message in that and some need to man up and get real like Phil Walsh did honourably with no bulls..

Wow!
The teams and AFL show respect by not singing the club song after the game and you start a thread about it. Get a grip.
He's barely cold, people are hurting and you think it appropriate to belt out a celebratory song of victory.
It's called empathy, mate. Empathy, compassion and respect. You are an absolute pinhead.
while I agree with your sentiment, no need calling people a pinhead. You could argue your comment about being barely cold is disrespectful.

Absolutlely disgraceful how some on here are using the tragic murder of someone to politicize this topic.

AFL for all their faults and things we disagree with have got this spot on. Their requests have been empathetic and respectful.

Hey Magic, hey Sunshine find me a club that disagrees with the requests made and I will eat my hat

Some of the comments on here as so childish and are typical of some segments of society who belive "you cant tell me what to do". How bout you pull your heads in for a week, show some respect and you can get get back to normal next week. Surely not too much to ask.

Thats our point.

AFL HQ made it political on balance by not letting clubs sing the song etc..

It was massively over the top and clearly on balance political IMO with a long term revenue raising focus IMO.

Had I been in charge, no doubt Hawks could sing there song with gusto, and in the legacy of Phil Walsh, we keep punching and living a full life.

In the spirit of Phil Walsh we will continue to live life in the fullest bounce back and move forward.

We are what we do and life is not about scoring political points by appearing to be sensitive by preventing the purpose of matches and their spirit.

In fact encountering this resistance makes one want to be Phil Walsh and defiantly move forward leaving behind the focus on the negative!!

Two wrongs do not make a right and people need to move forward, show leadership , and be positive!

What are you talking about?
I agree with your sentiment Barry. If you are having ato ask this though I would suggest that you "unlike" the original post as it is in such bad taste. There is absolutley nothing to like about it.

DELETING MY POSTS.
Shouldn't have taken the bait and responded to the trolls.
Spud I dont think you should delete. When absolutle filth like this is spewed out it is important for rational , empathetic people to call bullsh*t on things like this.

When you spot unsociable behaviour it is important to take a stand and call it for what it is.

Couldn't give a f.. about the clubs.

I m talking about humans and humanity!!!

Remember a human died not the club and one thought he was too focused on the club and made it a humanity story!!

Thats the problem, it is not about AFL HQ, Phil Walsh died as a human, not an icon!!!!

Phil Walsh would not want to be an icon, he would want to be remembered as a human respecting all and in that respect, in the club of human beings, which AFL HQ and the clubs have no jurisdiction on, life moves on!
