I am interested in knowing who holds various records in the AFL. Not the VFL/AFL just the AFL.

To find out why read the essays on the Dan24 v Servo Post.

Taking the AFL from 1991 (inclusive) onwards here is my guess...just a guess.

Most Number of Games
Ben Hart - Adelaide if not now certainly by the time he retires.

Leading Goal Kicker
Lockett
Dunstall
Carey
Modra
Ablett

how many had Locket/Dunstall & Ablett kicked before 1991 ?

Most Number of consecutive games
Stynes
Libba

Premierships
Essendon, North, Crows, WCE * 2
Carlton, Hawthorn * 1
WB, Collingwood, Fremantle, Port, Bris, Sydney, Melbourne, St Kilda, Richmond, Geelong * 0

Tackles
Libba

Kicks
Buckley

Marks
Carey
Loewe
Lockett

Possestions
Fletcher - call me mad !!
perhaps more likely to be Harvey.

Can't think of any other categories but feel free to add.

Does anyone know the actual stats ?

Lloyd would be way ahead on soft free kicks!

This is a hallucination and these faces are in a dream. A computer generated environment; a fantasy island you can do anything and not have to face the consequences.

CJH....please point out to me one soft free kick Lloyd got after rd 2 this year? He was bloody crucified by those white maggots and if anything, prevented him from kicking 150 this year.

Hopefully the umps are a little more openminded next year and not dictated by media innuendo.

Sensitive issue S. Robbo?

Clearly, my post was tongue-in-cheek, evidenced by the

placed along side of it.

Your response, however, highlights an observation that Essendon supporters seem to be immediately defensive at even slight criticism of there team.

Ultimately, Lloyd was guilty of staging for free kicks, and as such, should wear whatever criticism that comes his way. Tough? Probably, but he made his bed; he can now sleep in it.

you again Dan24 !!!!

trust me....contibuting to this post (or not, I don't mind) will not prejudice my understanding of your views as expressed elsewhere.

This was not supposed to be an extension of the VFL/AFL or AFL vs SANFL debate (not that I have any say on what other's post).

I was just interested.

PTW chose 1991 because that was the year that the competition changed its name from the VFL to the AFL.

By the way, that list of premierships should read:

1 Gold Trophy - North Melbourne

2 Standard Trophies - Essendon, West Coast, Adelaide
1 Standard Trophy - North Melbourne, Carlton, Hawthorn

There ya Go!

What's in a name? Surely the comp was truely National in 1987 when the Bears and Eagles joined the Swans as the interstate brigade.

C4E, yes you defended the title. It was soft and it can't be adequately debated. As Dan has pointed out, winning the GF doesn't necessarily point out the best team all year. What was your average winning games tally over those two years 13? Hardly stirring stuff is it?

Carlton have copped heaps for making the GF in 1999 after finishing 6th and getting flogged by the Lions. Wasn't it 1998 when the Crows won the bloody thing by finishing the H&A season somewhere in the middle of the eight, got flogged by Melbourne, I believe and still won through.

At least justice was seen to be done in the 1999 GF (in the eyes of the football worldn not Blues fans).

You have to clutch at straws because that is all you have got.

Sorry ptw for changing your subject. Carry on.
