NINETIES ROUND


Footscray adorn their 90's preseason get-up, whilst St.Kilda are out in force in the Crusader.


Port Adelaide wear arguably their GOAT guernsey (aside from the bars) and North wear a 90s variant of their home guernsey with extra stripes. (Don't worry, the Bounding Roo is coming...)


In a battle of the expansion clubs, the Bears wear their classic chevron design and the Crows wear their 96-98 pre-season guernsey.


Credit to Mero for the magpie for the Collingwood's design here. It's a 1997 pre-season battle of the guernseys here.


1992 & 1994 Grand Final rematch sees West Coast in the royal, and Geelong in their 1999 away design.


Essendon are f**king boring, yet iconic, and Carlton wear the infamous M&M baby blue jumper.


Some variance from the Tigers with no sash on the reverse, and Freo rock their inaugural away guernsey.


Yet another 1997 pre-season battle here in this round between the Dees and the Hawks.​

MILLENIUM ROUND - 2000


Had to put two of my all time favourites together - the Port tripanel and the motherf**king GOAT - The Ochre. Thanks to Mero for the graphic.


Dockers in the classic anchor and the Roos in their own GOAT. F**k, the year 2000 was a great year for guernseys (excluding the West Coast tripanel).


Lions in the ol' faithful, and Richmond crank out the gradient claws.


Both clubs in their home guernseys for the time but hot damn this just feels so 2000 with the rounded monogram and the robodoggo together.


Classic home guernseys for both teams here, nothing too exciting...


The Hot Cross Bun returns to take on the classic Geelong hoops.


Another one that feels super 2000 - the Swooping Magpie versus the all-red Melbourne jumper. Hnnnnnng. Thanks to Mero for the swooping magpie graphic.


Blargh screw you Essendon for being boring af. But hey Hawthorn get up in the infamous sleeved design... just without sleeves.​

Personally I'd like to see Adelaide pay homage to -- if they must -- landmark moments in SANFL history. They don't have to say its heritage, but as a club that was created by the SANFL, they can say its paying tribute to those that came before them. Of course before doing so they'd have to get the blessing from the club in question. It would be difficult, no doubt. State jumpers I'm not so sold on TBH.

One of my ideas was of Adelaide playing Carlton in a jumper reminiscent of North Adelaide's 1972 team that won the premiership and the Championship of Australia. Care to visualise, F.T.?

That Essendon jumper was actually a replica of an Essendon Association jumper. I think Mero said it was one of the reasons behind the creation of footyjumpers.com, to tell the truth about the history of jumpers.

SEVENTIES ROUND - PART ONE

Adelaide will be paying homage to the South Australian State of Origin team, whilst Brisbane wear the classic 'Roys guernsey.

Carlton in the traditional guernsey, and Sydney wearing a South Melbourne guernsey.

Not a lot to say here...

West Coast wear the 70's Western Australia state guernsey, and Port Adelaide wear the Magpies prison bars design.​

Very cool idea IMO.
Personally, I would rather see stuff like that than Adelaide and West Coast wearing the state jumper for heritage/retro rounds.
