Howe is a gun and will not be easily covered. Shaz has nowhere near the mobility or athleticism.
Thankfully though the word is he's come back more athletic than before, he won't be jumping on anyone's head like Howe of course but we're lucky to be able to replace a star with almost equal quality

When are people going to understand that any team can win on any given night? Stop looking at the ladder and just be grateful each time we secure four points. We flogged Port yet now you rate them. We just came off the bye. It was a good hit out.
We actually play well against decent sides like Geelong and the likes, but it's just pathetic how we play down to these bottom rung clubs week in week out now.
If you accept that kind of footy being down 3 out of 4 quarters only to just scrape by then don't be surprised when we make an early exit out of the finals this year because that just cannot stand no matter what team we play.

But you don't make sense. If we are an embarrassment what does that say about the teams below us? The Eagles and Tigers have both copped several beltings this year. Do you think they are out of contention? We have not been belted by anyone. We keep having these embarrassing victories.

That's a blow. Shaz should be in, you would think. We lose some aerial strength however.
Would still hold off a bit on Shaz. Look at long term with him given his injuries so far. Not a quick fix for our seniors backline (Howe). Not like Dons did with Daniher. Give him some time to get solid grounding before he comes in again.

A te
It wasn't too bad of a loss by the Cats last night, an Away game against another top 8 side they aren't always going to win them. A loss to a Bottom 4 Bulldogs would be even more embarrassing. But to answer your question, Yes to Geelong and no to Freo.
A technicality, I know, but we didn't have "a loss to a Bottom 4 Bulldogs."

If finals were next week we’d be footbed by 8 goals. Lucky we got 2 months to get things right.
We have a couple of gears to go up into come finals. I honestly believe the playing group know that within themselves also.

Just realized The Dogs beat the Pies for 5 years straight between 2013 - 2018.... we really don't play well against them at all.

Garry Lyon.
“In the end if Brodie Grundy played for the dogs they win.”
If Grundy played for the Blues they’d be 10 wins!
And if De Goey played more midfield time today we would of won by 3-4 goals more.....what a stupid analogy by Lyon.

Our worst game of the year so far but we scrapped a win and that’s what matters the most. Though always dread us playing this ground. Upside, we can look to build from here.
