PAC have 6 or 7 currently on AFL lists which is pretty good for a non meat head footy is everything type school. Even in my day, pre draft and before the VFL/AFL meant that much to South Australian's we had Rocket Maynard, Craig Kelly, Scott Russell and David Pittman.

private schools arent like that. surely not. they dont take in students for reasons other than academic surely. they dont remove students simply to boost their numbers of high passes surely.

Wrong answer, but keep that class hatred going. I'm sure it makes you feel better.

Assumption's record of achievement as a football factory is down to truly dedicated and talented people operating an outstanding program for over 1/2 a century.

Assumption is only a private school in name, it's main reason for producing players was that it a cheap option for country borders during the 70's & 80's.

XC are a football factory, Luke Ball, Jobe Watson, Daniel Hannerbery, etc, etc. 1 school though has 2 current AFL coaches & produced Wallis & Libeatorie in last years draft. Top that.

St Patricks college Ballarat, best players will come in the next two years

But no modern day Brownlow Medallists.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Essendon Keilor College. They run a specific footy VCE program and entice kids from the Calder Cannons to do their VCE at the school. Penleigh and Essendon Grammar (their local rivals) also have had a lot of kids end up in the AFL system over the past 20-odd years.

Xavier College has been the standard-bearer in the APS for decades. Meanwhile, lots of kids are coming through Melbourne Grammar now - a result of the scholarships they've handed out in recent years. Caulfield Grammar is another school with scholarship links.

Yes but Seymour is not noted for it's football;)

It might of changed, but it didn't used to be. Nobody in our First XVIII where brought in or on scholarships. We just naturally had generally pretty good sides which were pretty much in the top 4 of schools year in year out. If anything, Rossies could be have been accused of handing out a few easy tuitions and Sacred Heart always seemed to have about 8 year 13s in the team, but that was 20 years ago and as I said, things may have changed.

PAC hand out footy scholarships, wtf is Seymour?

An upper crust girls school at Glen Osmond:confused:

This and never seeing a drive thru smokemart, I'm starting to question whether you actually are from Adelaide.
Don't live near either of them.

I'm from the North-East side

i dont believe that schools make much of a difference to whether or not a kid will get drafted....could go to broady high and if the kid is good enough he will be good enough....nature vs nurture

I think it's more to do with the kid being seen by recruiters a lot more then say a one off game by chance.
