It's only one example but with the MCC turning patrons away last night and the ground being fewer than 500 short of capacity, it does feel that the 95000 sell outs with 5000 people short are largely due to the MCC not filling.
I wonder if they cop some flak from members who missed out.

There was a bloke a few rows in front of me (Hawks fan) who was completely losing his shit in the last quarter. Another Hawks fan in front of him turned around and told him to STFU. They nearly came to blues. Security came and nearly threw out the second guy before people around pointed out it was the first guy being a ****wit and they threw him out.

It was a disappointing result for all of us, but keep your shit together. That meltdown was pathetic.

The main reason for the 95k "capacity" during the late 2010's was the AFL & MCG’s unwillingness to sell a full allocation of standing room tickets, while the MCC may not have “locked out” supporters in that era, they only had standing room remaining for entry for many finals pre-COVID

Playing AFL members bingo. So far got Richmond, North Melbourne and St Kilda fans proudly wearing their teams colours for strange reasons…

Also couldn’t get through the crossover with AFL membership, had to pull up the actual ticket…

Had tickets in the Ponsford last night, walking past the AFL Members to get in, about 20 mins before the game. Was gobsmacked at the length of the queues to get in...then when we finally squeeze through to Gate 1, no queues at all. What do they do differently that results in such a poor experience? I imagine a large number missed the start (and definitely the formalities) as a result of the entry bungle.

Don't think an updated one exists unfortunately. The Last one that was released was about 10 years ago.

The space means they're only able to have 2 Lines on each side compared to 4 or 5 at gate 1 - even though they cover about roughly the same amount of people.

Its such an awful bottleneck as you go past gate 7.
