Yep with so many corporates and freebies, it makes it worthlessThis is fir MCC. Too hard for AFL though.
From Friday, a new security feature will operate at the Gate 2 turnstiles. When members scan their physical or digital card, the identification photo linked to their membership will briefly appear on the turnstile screen. This initiative supports security and helps prevent the misuse of membership cards,
They could still do it for us plebs. Photo only appears if a non transferable ticket.Yep with so many corporates and freebies, it makes it worthless

Maybe corps have to enter through gate 6 and the AFL members just enter through gate 7. There are less of us than them, and they could fix those gates to stop the pesky AFL members from thieving cash from the AFLThey could still do it for us plebs. Photo only appears if a non transferable ticket.

I can't escape the riff-raff whichever membership I use!Don't worry, they're letting the general public into the MCC now too it seems. It's not just the AFL Reserve where standards have slid.

That's because they are shortsighted. They could potentially have more members in each category for more revenue if this didn't happen. They absolutely could do this but I doubt they will want to, the amount of membership sharing and on selling of tickets is massive, the AFL would rather stick their heads in the sand
probably figured they’d make more money selling level 4 to indian fans instead of leaving it empty because no one otherwise would show up to a t20iDon't worry, they're letting the general public into the MCC now too it seems. It's not just the AFL Reserve where standards have slid.

Or... they've hit 33000 and it will take 3 years to get back to 30000.The wait list impact my absentee coming back on is only temporary and a once off thing. So I wouldn’t worry too much about it and would expect to list to move quicker again from next year

Short term painCould be. But still better than moving 100 a year.
Isn't it usually 13-23k for AFL? That would expand to cover both teams' gold allocationI wonder what would happen if there is a Collingwood v Carlton GF when the Shane Warne stand is being rebuilt.. there is nothing stating that gold club support members are guaranteed GF seats right? Just top priority
13k-17k (or maybe 17.5k), not 23kIsn't it usually 13-23k for AFL? That would expand to cover both teams' gold allocation
What i meant was if they knock down the whole or part of the shane warne stand but still have the GF at the MCG it would be hard to 'squeeze in' pies and another vic team gold members somewhere else in the GIsn't it usually 13-23k for AFL? That would expand to cover both teams' gold allocation
I thought this too. However, if I understand the latest T&C’s, you can only successfully apply for Absentee Membership once for the duration of your membership and only for one year. The wait list impact my absentee coming back on is only temporary and a once off thing. So I wouldn’t worry too much about it and would expect to list to move quicker again from next year
21.10 Absentee Membership: An AFL Absentee Membership allows you to place your AFL Membership on hold, while your AFL Membership is maintained. From 2025 onwards, an AFL Absentee Membership is only available for a maximum of one (1) year for the duration that the membership is held (any previous years of Absentee Membership will not be counted towards this limit). For example, if you hold an Absentee Membership for the 2025 season, you must reinstate your full AFL Membership for the 2026 Membership period to maintain your AFL Membership. You will also not be eligible to apply for an Absentee Membership again.
All Absentee Members will be reinstated to their previous full AFL Membership for the 2026 Membership period at the renewal rollover date, unless the AFL is otherwise notified by the Absentee Member. The renewal rollover date will be separately communicated to all Absentee Members.
AFL Members may obtain an AFL Absentee Membership for the annual fees set out in the table below.
yep two of the young people that mooch off of me just made MCC, so they dropped off silver this year as well.Hey Gang. I have just cancelled my AFL Membership so you won't be hearing from me anymore. I'll be moving into the "MCC Provisional Membership Waitlist Number" group if it exists.
I can't afford both a Provisional MCC membership and an AFL Silver Membership especially considering the path to Gold Membership is looking to take longer each year.
In good news anyone who's waitlist number was higher than my 173, you have just moved up one more spot. You're welcome
I'll still visit here from time to time to see how goes the battle. Good Luck.
Just curious, how will you attend GMHBA games now?Hey Gang. I have just cancelled my AFL Membership so you won't be hearing from me anymore. I'll be moving into the "MCC Provisional Membership Waitlist Number" group if it exists.
