AFL Silver Membership Waitlist Number

Tis the season for upgrades! Keen to know who is getting the golden ticket. Hopefully you get the nod Teddy. I don’t blame you for being pi$$ed at the AFL recruiting lapsed members. My best mate has been waiting since 2008(?) and is still yet to be offered full. He’s around 800 on the waitlist so fingers crossed for him (and you) for receiving the upgrade.

If he has been signed up since ‘08 & hasn’t been upgraded that’s crap.
I signed up before the ‘09 season and got the opportunity to upgrade to gold (which I took) midway through 2019.

No, just booked ticket for Carlton V St Kilda this morning.
If on ticketmaster make sure you choose the game option that says "AFL Reserve".

Waitlist number last year was 2,318
Waitlist number this year is 1,697

Must be a fair backlog in 2010 as I think I signed up towards the back half of the year (not 100% sure).

Wishful thinking that I get up next year? Has anyone received a Gold offer when they signed up in 2010?

Based on the trend, I'm still 3 years away. Unless of course there are a few people that pass on renewing once the prices go back to normal given we have had a 30% discount for a couple of years.

Received my AFL membership card yesterday and was surprised to see they now show your waitlist number which is the amount of people ahead of you inline to go gold.

Id like to get an idea of the year people joined and there waitlist number. Ill update this post as the numbers roll in.

What a difference a year makes! I signed up in 2010 and my waitlist number is in the 1,600s. Still 2 years away min! That’s 15 years vs your 7!

You normally get something sent in the mail from the AFL Membership Dept in October/November. 99% of the letter/brochure they send is fluff you already know - the only critical information most want to know is whether they’re being offered an upgrade or what their position in the queue is.

I signed up 2011 and still 4500. A ton signed up in 2011 after pies won the gf in 2010. You shouldn’t be too far away I think

Used to be queen’s birthday weekend. I was upgraded on QB weekend and work colleague was also offered his upgrade the same week. Interesting there’s nothing to report this year other than they’re trying to re-sign lapsed gold members.

Yeah seems dodgey after the response I got when I queried them on the lapsed member upgrades. I was actually late 300’s on waitlist in November, will be dirty if I don’t get mid year!

They still wouldn’t gtee me though after they said the upgrade size and I said I look forward to receiving mine given i was high 300’s in November.. my only concern is they include the lapsed members they tried to bring back in this upgrade total

I received the AFL members survey and specifically mentioned the lapsed members being upgraded, the devalued membership due to the reserve being handed over to corporates/interstate members, reduced access to GF tickets, poor facilities and no access to level 2 at Docklands without paying exorbitant fees amongst other things.

I’m 597 and haven’t heard anything as yet.

If people with waitlist numbers less than 1000 don't get upgraded this year they are seriously having a laugh. They treat AFL Members with utter disrespect, couldn't give a stuff about us. Other than game day attendance (which is being restricted at a greater and greater rate) with access to substandard facilities, what actual benefits do you get from the membership these days?
