East Coast Eagles defeated an inaccurate Inner West Magpies by 14 points at Picken Oval..

After an entertaining first quarter in which the Eagles kicked 5 goals to Magpies 3, both teams defended grimly in the final three quarters. The Magpies were only 8 points down at three-quarter time, but the Eagles kicked 2 goals to 1 in the final stanza to record a tough victory.

Marshall Poynter kicked 5 goals for East Coast in a match-winning display up forward. Key forward Ben Zoppo kicked 3 goals for the Magpies.

East Coast’s best players were Poynter, Baylee Jones, Reeve Simmons, Connor Ballingall, Cameron Edwards and Jacob Jones. Inner West was best served by Jonty Inglis, Ryder Eberhard, Kyle Veerhuis, Lucas Lam, Benjamin Klemke and Patrick Wilmot.


North Shore 15.14 104 def. St George 7.5 47

North Shore, after a huge scare last week at Rosedale Oval, got back to business with 57-point victory over St George at Gore Hill Oval.

The Bombers led by 5 goals at the main break and then kicked 7 goals to 3 in the second half as they kept pace with undefeated Manly Warringah.

Tom Gillis kicked 7 goals for the Bombers, with Aidan McCartney and Jackson Nelson chipping in with 2 majors each. Full-forward Jed Robin kicked 4 goals for St George, again showing why he is such an important recruit for the Dragons.

North Shore’s best players were Thomas Drum, Jake Veale, Gillis, Ethan Grace, Nelson and McCartney. St George was best served by Callum Nash, Thomas ingram, Lachlan Querzoli, Jeremy Woods, Alexander Box and Dominic Michalak.


UNSW-ES 15.14 104 de. UTS 11.5 71

UNSW-ES withstood a withering opening burst of 4 goals in 5 minutes from UTS to run out 33-point victors; in doing so seriously denting any hope the Bats had of sneaking into finals action.

The Bats led by 10 points at quarter-time, but the Bulldogs kicked 13 goals to 7 after the first break to register an important victory as they jumped arch rivals Sydney Uni into third place on the Premier Division ladder.

The Dynamic Duo of veteran Kieran Emery (4) and Hugo Birks (3) kicked 7 goals up forward for the Bulldogs. Thomas Charles kicked 3 goals for the Bats, with Justin Ryan and Josh Ralph chipping in with 2 majors each for UTS.

UNSW-ES’ best players were Toby Alker, the evergreen Emery, Samuel Gaden, Oscar Peter, Cooper Kilpatrick and Sam Thorne. UTS was best served by Lewis McCormack, Blake Tabe, Henry Gosse, Ryan, Ryley Walker and Jack Calabro.


South West Sydney 21.7 133 def. Pennant Hills 10.5 65

South West Sydney rocketed back into the Top Five with an outstanding 68-point victory over Pennant Hills at Mike Kenny Oval. The Blues ran out winners in a high-scoring game, with guest Blues players, Brownlow Medallist and Richmond Premiership skipper Trent Cotchin and Tiger/Sun Brandon Ellis thrilling the healthy crowd on hand at Cherrybrook.

After an insane first quarter that lasted 33 minutes and featured 12 goals, the Blues, after leading by 17 points at half-time, shut the door on the Demons in the pivotal third quarter, kicking 7 goals whilst keeping the Demons scoreless. The two sides again entertained the crowd with combined 7 goals in the final stanza.

In the absence of Nic Dunshea, Eddie Keogh kicked 5 goals for the Blues. Bailey Stewart kicked 3 goals for the Blues as part of a great all-round display from the talented midfielder. Nick Hey kicked 4 goals for Pennant Hills, with skipper Mitchell Blow chipping in with 2 majors for the Demons.

In the late game at Uni #1 Oval, Manly Warringah overcame a sluggish start to run out 44-point victors over Sydney University.

University led by 11 points at quarter-time, but the Wolves, no doubt stung into action, piled on 6 goals to 2 in the second quarter to lead by 8 points at the main break. Manly and Uni combined for 15 goals in an exciting second half, but, once again, Manly ran away with the game in the fourth quarter.

Phelan Medal favourite Travis Schiller kicked 4 goals for the Wolves. Cam Manuel, Zach Youlten and Jesse Wadeisha all chipped in with 2 majors for Manly. Luke Haddad and Nik Dale kicked 3 goals each for the Students.

Sydney University ground out a tough 25-point victory over a spirited East Coast Eagles at Uni #1 Oval.

After a tight first half, the Students led by 5 points at the main break. After the Eagles rocketed into the lead in the third quarter, University settled down, eventually kicked 7 goals to 4 in the second half.

Forwards Hugo Blacker and Tom Ryan kicked 3 goals apiece for the Students. Ben Currie, Ben Rogers, and Matthew Eastman all kicked 2 goals for the Eagles.

North Shore withstood a third-quarter surge from UTS to squeak home by 8 points at Trumper Oval.

The Bombers led by 14 points at half time. UTS, welcoming back talisman Ash Backlund, kicked 5 goals to 1 as they turned the game completely on its head in a dominant third quarter. The Bombers, who stared down a possible upset 14 days earlier at Rosedale Oval, then kicked 3 final quarter goals, whilst keeping the Bats goalless, to secure a hard-earned victory.

Max Thomas kicked 3 goals for the Bombers, with Phelan Medal hopeful Ethan Grace chipping in with two majors. Backlund kicked 4 goals for the Bats, with Josh Ralph and Thomas Charles managing 2 goals each for the hosts.

South West Sydney Blues shot 6 points clear of Pennant Hills with a 103-point over an injury depleted Inner West Magpies at Rosedale Oval.

The Blues were consistent throughout the game, kicking 9 goals in the first half and 10 in the second half as they clearly aim for finals footy at Blacktown in late August.

James Kennedy kicked 5 goals for the Blues, and he was well supported by Bailey-Dean Latanis and big Eddie Keogh, both of whom managed 4 goals for the hosts. Ryder Eberhard kicked 2 goals for the Magpies.

Manly Warringah were in a ruthless, trenchant mood against Pennant Hills on Saturday, with the Wolves disposing of the Demons by a massive 138 points at Weldon Oval.

Manly led by 50 points at the main break but went simply berserk in the final quarter, kicking 10.2 to 0.1 in a phenomenal performance from the clear competition favourites.

Cam Manuel, Travis Schiller, and Jesse Wadeisha all kicked 4 goals for the Wolves. The Prince, Theo Moraitis, kicked 2 goals for the Demons as Pennant Hills welcomed back their full forward after a lengthy absence.

UNSW-ES also produced a devastating performance at Olds Park on Saturday, belting hosts St George by 87 points.

The Bulldogs shot out to a 25-point lead at quarter-time, increasing their lead at each break. The fact that the Bulldogs kept the never-say-die Dragons scoreless in the final quarter will please coaching staff.

Veteran full-forward Kieran Emery kicked 5 goals for UNSW-ES as he continued his rich vein of form this season. St George full-forward Jed Robin kicked 2 goals against his former club.

A dominant first quarter from Sydney University set up a comfortable 48-point win over Inner West Magpies at Uni #1 Oval.

The Students jumped out a 29-point lead at quarter time, and despite a rally from the Magpies in the second quarter, University were never seriously threatened as they secured another 4 points ahead of a crucial, difficult 4-week period that will decide if they make the Top 3.

Izaac Hughes, Hugo Blacker and Braydon Pilot all kicked 3 goals for Sydney Uni. Jaden Gilheany kicked 3 goals for the Magpies.

Sydney Uni’s best players were Alex Witherden, Rory Barkley, Mamadou Faye, Jay Tang, Max Kozlik and Hughes. Inner West was best served by Jonathon Bowyer, Gilheany, Jye Doyle, Michael Tuttle, Nicholas McCormack and Keegan Litchfield.


North Shore 15.9.99 def. East Coast Eagles 6.8.44

Much like Sydney Uni, a dominant first quarter from North Shore set up a 55-point win over East Coast Eagles at Bruce Purser Reserve.

The Bombers flew out of the blocks, leading by 29 points at quarter time then by 58 points at half time. It was 5 goals apiece in the second half as East Coast battled hard, but the damage had already been done and the Bombers cruised to another victory.

Max Thomas kicked 4 goals for North Shore, with Charlie Stephens chipping in with 3 majors. Marshall Poynter kicked 2 goals for the Eagles.

North Shore’s best players were not available at the time of writing. East Coast was best served by Jacob Jones, Reeve Simmons, Baylee Jones, Jesse Eldred, Angus Edwards and Cameron Edwards.

A red-hot South West Sydney Blues had a huge day out at Olds Park, thrashing St George by 73 points.

The Blues led by 61 points at the main break, courtesy of an electrifying 7 goal second quarter, in which small forward Bailey-Dean Latanis kicked an amazing 5 goals. St George dug deep in the second half, managing 4 goals to the Blues 5, but the Blues are close to securing a finals berth after this well-constructed victory.


Latanis kicked 5 goals for the Blues, with Heath Mercer and William Lockett chipping with 3 goals each. Jed Robin and Kirian Ayres kicked 2 goals each for the Dragons.

South West Sydney’s best players were Latanis, Mercer, Matthew Storey, Lockett, Ethan Roberts and Khy Gibbs. St George was best served by Ayres, Liam Taylor, Cave McKnight (surely one of the most improved players in Premier Division), Matt Saunders, Jack Logan and Lachlan Querzoli.

UNSW-ES consolidated third place on the ladder with a 90-point demolition of Pennant Hills at Mike Kenny Oval.

The Bulldogs collected valuable percentage as they piled on the misery for the Demons in a clinical 4-quarter performance.

Skipper Will Spencer led all goalkickers with 4 majors, aided and abetted by Jake Brown, William Foster and Billy Longmire, all of whom managed 3 goals on a day where the Bulldogs kicked 20 goals from 29 effective shots on goal. Nick Hey kicked 3 goals for the Demons as they fell 10 points behind South West Sydney on the Premier Division ladder.

Undefeated competition leaders Manly Warringah were made to work hard by UTS before closing out the Bats in the second half to win by 37 points at Weldon Oval.

The Wolves led by 4 points at the main break but kicked 7 goals to 2 in the second half, despite a brave effort from UTS.

Cam Manuel kicked 4 goals for the Wolves, with the usual suspects Zac Youlten, Phelan Medal favourite Travis Schiller and Jesse Wadeisha all chipping in with two majors each. Thomas Charles kicked 4 goals for the Bats as he continued his recent good form in front of goals.

Some huge results in the Men’s Premier Division sees a new competition leader and a revitalised battle for fifth place between South West Sydney and Pennant Hills.


Pennant Hills 10.7.67 def. Sydney University 9.9.63

Pennant Hills produced a stirring, backs-to-the-wall upset 4-point victory over Sydney University at Uni #1 Oval. Combined with South West Sydney going down to UNSW-ES, the Demons are suddenly back in the race for the Finals.

Scores were tight all day, with the Students leading by a mere 2 points at the final break. Pennant Hills kicked 3 goals to 2 in a thrilling final quarter as they hung on for their best victory of season 2025.

Key forwards Nick Hey (5 goals) and “The Prince”, Theo Moraitis (3 goals) were crucial the Demons upset win. Tom Ryan kicked 3 goals for Uni, whilst gun recruit Alex Witherden chipped in with 2 goals for the Students.

Pennant Hills’ best players were key defender Michael Carroll, Hey, Kieron Coaldrake, Lachlan Willey, Nicholas Eynaud and Moraitis. Sydney Uni was best served by Harry Cameron, Mamadou Faye, Braydon Pilot, Sam Barkley, Witherden and Jay Tang.

St George defeated near-neighbour Inner West Magpies by 23 points at Picken Oval.

The Dragons led by 20 points at the main break, after Inner West led by 7 points after the first quarter. The Dragons maintained their lead throughout the second half, with both teams kicking 7 goals in an entertaining half of football.

Jed Robin and Luke Arendse (4 goals and 3 goals respectively) led the Dragons scoring charge. In-form Ryder Eberhard kicked 6 goals in an excellent display up forward for the Magpies.

St George’s best players were Dominic Michalak, Patrick Tegg, Finnegan Ritchie, Liam Taylor, Matt Saunders and Lachlan Cabor. Inner West was best served by Lucas Lam, Eberhard, Keegan Litchfield, Jye Doyle, Jordan Ware and player-coach Ben Klemke.


UTS 10.13.73 def. East Coast Eagles 9.8.62

UTS produced yet another second-half fightback to defeat East Coast Eagles by 11 points at Waverley Oval.

The Eagles led by 10 points at the halftime, then the Bats 4 goals to 1 in the pivotal third quarter to lead by 8 points at the final break. Both teams could only manage a goal each in the final quarter as UTS proved once again that Waverley Oval is a difficult place for visiting teams.

Ash Backlund kicked 3 goals for the Bats, with James Beasley and Lachlan McNamara chipping in with 2 goals each for UTS. Nathan Coxall, Scott Brown and Marshall Poynter all kicked 2 goals each for East Coast.

UTS’ best players were Henry Gosse, McNamara, Backlund, Damian Ryan, Lewis McCormack and Joshua Lee. East Coast was best served by Reeve Simmons, Brody Kane, Jacob Jones, Cameron Edwards, Poynter and Harry Elbourne.


UNSW-ES 10.12.72
def. South West Sydney 5.6.36

UNSW-ES produced a superb defensive performance in accounting for South West Sydney by 6 goals at Rosedale Oval. Combined with Sydney University’s upset loss to Pennant Hills, the Bulldogs are 6 points clear of the Students with 4 rounds left. The arch rivals have a massive Round 16 fixture at Sydney University that could decide the double chance in the Finals Series.

UNSW-ES jumped out of the blocks in the first quarter, leading the Blues by 18 points at the first break. After even second quarter, the Bulldogs gradually drew away from the Blues as they continue their strong season after a difficult 2024.

Veteran Kieran Emery kicked 5 goals for UNSW-ES, with Cooper Flint chipping in with 2 majors. In-form small forward kicked 3 goals for South West Sydney.

UNSW-ES’ best players were Harrison Dyson, Oscar Peter, Anthony Halikas, Thomas Baxter, Sam Thorne and Toby Alker. South West Sydney was best served by Khy Gibbs, Joshua Croft, Latanis, Ethan Roberts, Max Lower and representative ruckman Finbar Delbridge.


North Shore 13.16.94 def. Manly Wolves4.6.30

North Shore produced their best performance of the season in belting previously undefeated Manly Warringah by an astonishing 64 points at Gore Hill Oval, and in doing so, nudged Manly Warringah out of first place.

Make no mistake, this was a superb performance by the Bombers. After an indifferent month leading into this game, North Shore were back to their devastating best as they made it clear that they right after back-to-back flags.

The Bombers led by 20 points at halftime then kicked 8 goals to 2 in a dominant second half.

Goals were evenly shared by North Shore, with Thomas Drum, Max Thomas and Max Yeoland all kicking 2 goals. Representative star Zac Youlten kicked 2 goals for the Wolves.

North Shore’s best players were dual Phelan Medallist Ned Campbell, Harry Walker, Fraser Thurlow, Pierce Roseby, Yeoland and Sean Netting. Manly Warringah was best served by Byron Laws, Aiden Adams, Jacob Saxby, Alexander Jacobs and Youlten.

The round start with UTS Bats up against Pennant Hills at Trumper Oval, followed by East Coast hosting the South West Blues, UNSW Bulldogs vs Inner West, with the round ening with the Manly Wolves taking on St George at Weldon Oval
