Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Draw:
There will be 15 rounds in the season, following the same fixture as the first 15 rounds of the AFL season (as long as they keep the all v all in the first 15 rounds format).

^^^ no good it seems!

Probably for the best, mixes the players around a bit

Yeah I saw it coming, but Adrian Anderson still might get taken off the dartboard for Gillon McLachlan

I've got a fixture I've made up in the past somewhere around here - I'll probably use that for next year

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Question - how do we know if someone is uncontracted? is it in real life or what previous owners of my team have had contracts for?

EDIT - i understand now.

Can I bid for any uncontracted player?

I think im starting to get this. SO for example, if Jed Adcock was uncontracted, i cant trade him?

and say if someone bids $200,000, and I dont want to match this, then do they get him without having to trade me anything?

sorry about all the questions, would be great help if i could find answers though, sorry.

its alright mate, couple of weeks ago i was exactly the same asking about 100 questions but i understand it now i think.

Yes you can bid for any uncontracted players

If Jed Adcock was out of contract, you and other teams can bid for him, however you can also trade him.

Yes thats correct if they bid something and you dont want to match it then they will most likely get him, although other clubs get the chance to bid as well. And yes they dont have to trade you anything if that were the case

Hope that helped.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

So if we bid on our own uncontracted, that is like resigning him? Will there be a time limit on them or is that final?

still the time limit, except you dont have to better the deal, you only have to match it.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Just a question on draft picks.

If I trade for a pick that is lower than my third pick, can I use that pick as my third and not use any more? Or do I have to use my original first three picks and also the on I traded for?

You must use your first 3, so if you trade for #1, #2 and #3, you only have to use those... if you trade for a pick ABOVE your 3rd pick, I believe you must use that pick and all before it

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Ive got a rule suggestion but its probably too laote to implement it for the coming season

Each team shoould be able to re-sign one or two uncontracted players to their list without having other teams bid on them.....Ill explain it more later

Wanan get peoples thoughts first.

im all for it

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Just want clarification.

Does the three bid rule only apply to players who are uncontracted not from your club.....what i mean is players of mine who are uncontracted i can match bids etc for as long as i want correct? And as far as i know bidding on own players doesnt count towards one fo your 2 active bids correct?

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

This rule where you can bid absolute minimum to keep any owned uncontracted player is complete garbage and will ruin the game.

The minimum you should be able to bid is the same amount as you have to contract a player if you trade for them. People will just get to keep guns for 107/130k and the 2 active bid rule with that means the market won't get to dictate the price.

Either the minimum bid has to change to the traded for price or the active bid rule abolished and replaced with a 2 active starter bid rule (ie you can only be the first to bid on a player 2 times at once, keeps the maximum number of players available to be bidded on at one time at 32).

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

You can bid on your own players as much as you want, the 3 bid rule doesnt apply.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Veterans list: Minimum 0, maximum 2. Players must be born in 1979 (turning 30 during the upcoming season) or earlier, and have been members of your club’s Team Manager squad since 2004 (completed 5 years on the list). The payments for these players will not be included in the Total Player Payments.

That was for the person looking for the Veterans rule ;)

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Can we trade 2 for 1 trades?
Can we trade one or more players for picks without getting players in return?

Not so important right now but what are the rules for veteran eligibility? I can't find them, sorry.
I currently don't have any eligible veterans and want to take any upcoming eligibility into consideration when I'm trading players in or out.
