With the official opening the CFC are announcing their targets for the trade period. Coach Mick Malthouse has put a emphasis on bringing in a tall defender and running backmen. A Ruckman and Winger may also be sort after. The forward line will require no trading unless and existing forward is traded.

I am outside the Sydney Football Club where in the First day of Trade week there has been a few major trades between the Sydney Swans and the Collingwood Magpies. In just over 2 and a half hours the deal saw young swan Jude Bolton and Experienced Ruckman Jason Ball paint their feathers black and white. The swans received Former Port Adelaide Midfielder Jarrad Schofield and Magpie Paul Licuria heading north. Here is what the club had to say:

"The Sydney Football Club would like to Announce that they have struck a Deal with the collingwood magpies and we recieved Jarrad Schofield and Paul Lucuria. We are honered with our pick ups so far."

Several Minutes Later they were at the table again and saw Collingwood Give the swans James Clement and then the pies recieved 2 Former Magpies in Andrew Schauble and Also rugged midfielder Paul Williams.

This comes after the sacking of Paul Roos. Terry Wallace is set to be named the swans coach for 2004.

"We are in the rebuilding stage of our new club and it is like a smorgersboard down here so contact me on wrennyboy@hotmail.com and we can work out a trade"

Collingwood Football Club Press Release.

The CFC has been busy tonite and has completed 2 trades with Sydney and 1 with Hawthorn. It has been a night of reuniting ex Pies with their old club as 3 pies return to the nest. Form Hawthorn Brodie Holland returned to teh club along wht gun youngster Gary Ablett Jr. They went in exchange for Alan Didak and Daniel Giansiracusa.

In the other trades for tonight Paul Licuria and Jarrad Scofield went north in exchange for JAson Ball and Jude Bolton.

In the other sydney trade James Clement went to his 3rd club for ex -Magpies Andrew Schauble and Paul Willliams.

When questioned about the club trading a small forwrd away when ths what they need coach Mick Malthouse replied. Leon does not suit our style of play and frankly is a average AFL palyer we require a top lcass forward.

I havent posted in this thread in a while and since then I seem to have misplaced Essendon's final listb so if rizzo or russian would like to post it or send me it I would be oh so greatful.

I would also like to take this oppurtunity to appoint Alf Stewart as 2004 senior runner and Bill Clinton as head coach. The Essendon Football Club wishes both men the best of luck for the 2004 season.
