I've noticed 5 game DVDs at JB hi-fi under the title AFL Thrashings. Hawthorn has one. Collingwood has one. Carlton has one. Essendon has one.

Surely, with all the sides we've absolutely BELTED over the years, SURELY we should get a bloody guernsey in the Thrashings series! I mean, considering;

Round 19, 2011 @ Kardinia Park
Geelong 37.11 (233) defeated Melbourne 7.5 (47) by 186 points

Round 7, 1992 @ Carrara
Geelong 37.17 (239) defeated Brisbane 11.9 (75) by 164 points

Round 6, 2007 @ Docklands
Geelong 35.12 (222) defeated Richmond 9.11 (65) by 157 points

Round 9, 1989 @ the M.C.G

Geelong 32.19 (211) defeated Richmond 10.17 (77) by 134 points

Round 13, 2008 @ Subiaco
Geelong 28.14 (182) defeated West Coast 5.17 (47) by 135 points

and of course

2007 AFL Grand Final
Geelong 24.19 (163) defeated Port Adelaide 6.8 (44) by 119 points

not to mention

Round 17, 1899 @ Corio Oval
Geelong 23.24 (162) defeated St Kilda 0.1 (1) by 161 points!:p

So, it's a boxed set then?

Visual Entertainment Group to put together a Geelong video that is worthy of actually buying after some of their poor efforts over the years??

You gotta be kidding!

Booooorrriiiinnnnnggggggg. I thought you blokes would be more interested in pressing for 9-disc box set of your recent arsey victories over us. At least they were (somewhat) exciting. :thumbsu:

They get worse every time. 1992 was better than 2004, which was better than 2007, which was better than 2011. You'd think these days it'd be easy to do. People like you do a better job of it for free in your own time!

Agree with OP. Just assumed this DVD would be released eventually but clearly not.

You kidding!? I'd rather watch the belting of Melbourne or Richmond than a couple points win over Hawthorn.

thanks mate!
Appreciate it, that Gazza video still sits very uneasy with me. With the footage I have been able obtain...be great to have a genuine production brought out on him with actual interviews from past players or even the man himself rather than using old footage from 20 years ago.
Money and legality issues are constantly an issue but for a genuine documentary to be done on the father and even the son in the coming years, it would really benefit every supporter of the AFL.

There have been great films made over the years, decade that delivered was a good one as it well detailed and put together and focused on every club without any bias.
100 years of Aussie Rules was great, Robert Dixon's Passion to play and Essence of the game were also brilliant works.

Do they not have enough DVDs to facilitate such a boxed set at a price punters will pay?

Pretty sure with all the floggings we have dished out we could have a 30 - 40 disc set

Blue-Ray stores between 25GB-50GB of capacity which would mean, 4-5 two-hours movies on a single disc but of course much more expensive price

The only thing I would have changed with your compilation is to show less opposition and more full Ablett clips. Some of the extra rare footage you have is sensational. Honestly no one on earth would have a good an Ablett footage collection as you.

I actually agree with you. All those flukes were pretty exciting.
