Seriously, the AFL has gone about this all wrong. The teams who have byes in the opening three rounds should have to play the Giants.
Playing GWS is effectively a bye. So in hindsight I would have gone the opposite way, those who have the bye last play GWS in the pre-season. I feel a bit for Sydney, GWS once, Gold Coast twice.

What moron's are running the AFL?
How can someone earn 2.2 million a year and preside over a mess like this?
And why is it the interstate teams who cop the dodgey draws for the last round of pre-season matches?

I'd say the AFL are damn lucky that this game is scheduled in SA, if this were scheduled in Blacktown I reckon you would see the first forfeit in probably a century.

It's an appalling waste of everyone's time. You'd be deadset ropeable if anyone suffered an injury in a game like this. Joke

I am hoping we are really friendly to the GWS guys and show off that they could be playing for a real club in a few years time when Sheedy/Choco starts to fry their brains.
I hope it wont be the opposite and have Sheedy/Chocco being friendly to our players...

Play one less player on each line and try to win by as much as possible. Take more players off if we're doing it easy.

A 200 point win won't get us ready for round 1.

somehow they managed to keep pace with North Melbourne in the second half and even outscored them in the last quarter.. still lost by 73 points though

sounds a little better than playing against 18 witches hats

in saying that, anything less than a 20 goal hiding would be unacceptable

Playing a 3rd rate side at a 3rd rate venue. Absolute joke immediately prior to the season start. I hope the ground at Willaston gets some rain on it this week to soften it up.

Instead of going flat out we're going to have to play with caution lest someone get hurt in a game we're going to win by a mile against an opposition that we won't see again for over 12 months.
