The media people like "Brace's" Caro and Hutchi are turning everything into a friggen circus. They just seem to keep puching anyone they can to try and get a story even if there isnt one there. I think Hutchi is a weed and needs to be erradicated.
As for Demetriou, sure he has done a great job but he is now becoming a massive boyle on the arse of the AFL competition and is turning it into a laughing joke. If he turns into a carbuncle, then the A League is going to walk all over the AFL and take it's place as the number one football comp in Australia.
Bring back the old VFL with its passion, and when what really matters is what happens on the field, and not some blood sucking media c*&ts trying to turn a bit of foul language into a major story.

God I hate Hutchi!!

I'd just like to know exactly what the AFL are looking to "investigate"? What are they going to do? They'll ask other if Clarko swore, some may say "yes", some may say, "probably, but it dodn't bother me", and some may say, "I don't know, I wasn't listening".

Caro, of course will be carrying on like a hen about to lay an egg, and Clarko will say, "maybe I swore once, who knows?",

Then what? The AFL gives Clarko a slap on the wrist and says "naughty"?

I mean ... what in hell is going on here????? I've said it before, I would like nothing more than for Hawthorn to inform certain members of the media they are no longer welcome at the club,

We can win a flag without any help from the media. We don't need their negative spin on everything we do.

Whilst i agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment AH, truth is we do need the media, we need them for exposure for our sponsors amongst other things

Awful truth is the media has us by the goolies

IF the other women that were present on Monday night, were so incensed and offended, why in the hell don't they complain to Hawthorn or the AFL. It seems to me that it's only Wilson that was offended, and if that's the case, who gives a continental!!She deserves all she gets!!!

This is clearly lurching into overkill territory.

I suspect that the Hawthorn Board will have some concerns about the incident, as do I, but these concerns do not relate implicitly to a few women hearing a few choice words.

The concern will be that arguing a matter such as this, off camera or otherwise, and needing to use expletives to push the argument is unprofessional, when the head coach is in what should be considered to be a senior professional position.

The view that Clarkson was "off-duty" during the incident doesn't really wash, as a canny operator will realise that you are always "on-duty" when around the media.

He could have argued his position forcefully without the unnecessary additions and there would have been no comeback for Caro and co; and no negative press would be getting back to the sponsors.

At any rate, its an issue for the Board to bring-up privately with Clarko, and not one for the AFL to jump all over purely as an exercise in showing the world that they're a PC-friendly organisation.

Clarko should have shown more restraint and self control than to brainlessly and unfairly verbally attack a highly respected football journalist who was simply doing his job.

That he chose to do this in front of several females makes it even more shameless and abhorrent and Caroline Wilson was absolutle right to bring this disgusting behaviour to our attention as she would quite rightly have been offended by such vulgar language.

If it was anybody else they probably would have given that worm Hutchy a smack to the gob and thrown Caro a years supply of brown paper bags.

I can't believe the AFL have even acknowledged this let alone investigate it. Absolute disgrace.

Good on ya Clarko and good luck against the Power.:thumbsu:

The AFL are stupid,s**t their pants when anybody say's anything real or honest for fear of offending the Community.

Only problem is most people in the "community" couldn't give a toss about half the things the AFL worries about.

Who are these women who take offense at swearing? Are they in the kitchen? Last time i checked women were able to vote and hold jobs, raise familys, but they can't handle a couple of swear words?

This is the same AFL though who want Selwood to undergo councelling because he called a fictional person a sl-t.

AFL can get stuffed.

Thanks mate. Firstly i must say I've gained alot of respect for WC supporters over the past week. Been humble in defeat and not afraid to tell it like it is.

This whole issue is possibly the stupidest thing i've ever heard. With respect to what I just said a player on national television after the GF last year said the F word and hardly anyone gave a crap. Clarko said it "DIRECTED" at a male a few times and Caroline Wilson cracks the sads for being present. I think the world has come to a sad state of affairs.

Is there a law against swearing in public? Is there a rule in the AFL constitution that says you can't swear if you're employed by an AFL club? IS THERE A GODDAMN RULE THAT SAYS WHAT YOU SAY OFF CAMERA, IN YOUR OWN TIME CAN BE SCRUTINISED?

It's f*ing disgraceful that a journalist, after finally copping some return fire, would be so immature and unprofessional as to desperately publish a story about 'off the record' comments.

CONGRATULATIONS CAROLINE WILSON. YOU HAVE JUST COMMITTED CAREERS SUICIDE...

I hope we never see you again... EVER!

Wow, this huge altercation over questionable language certainly puts some new 'spin' on the hot topic of workplace relations. Everyone’s playing the blame game and involved in the action.

The CEO of the AFL,
The Senior Coach of an AFL team,
GTV Channel 9.
Mainstream Journalists,

Put simply, I reckon this whole thing is Channel 9's fault. Their workplace, their employee involved in provoking a confrontation with a visitor on their premises. Gosh, almost a dismissible offence... how about it?

Caroline Wilson did nothing wrong in writing the article (although I'll never believe it was necessary, a sensible thing to do or has editorial merit).

PS: why can't we use a four letter word like <<>> on this site?
