Pfft, what are the chances of that. Say you do a deal with a fixer to make sure your team wins by 30+. How likely is one player going to be in a position to influence that. Maybe in one game out of 50 if he is lucky. Fixers can´t make money on odds like that.

Soccer is piss easy to fix. One fumble by a keeper is all it takes. One dodgy penalty call. Been happening in Europe here for years.
Well, umpires are generally paid less than many AFL players, and they are in a position to give dodgy free kicks in front of goal.

Also Richard Pryor pointed out the interchange breaches - where the interchange stewards are paid even less.

Match-fixing just doesn't happen when players and officials are well paid.

What people forget is that Healy Is also a qualified Physio (i think he has a doctorate) butcould be wrong

So when he says things like that he does that from a position of Knowledge.

He went to Rusden for his degree, and they were well and truly are the forefront of ... err ... [in the voice of Dr.Evil from Austin Powers whilst using highly exaggerated finger comma's to emphasis the point] "sports science" development.

So whats next? When are the teams/players going to be named and sentences handed down?
I didnt see the presser...whats the go? Do people think that every club will be involved? What will occur if say Essendon have 25 players suspended for an extended time, considering their list wouldnt be able to get enough players on the field.
Remember February 7, 2013. It could be the downfall of one of the biggest clubs or even an entire code.

Well until another club is named as in the spotlight, Essendon are what it's about, but that's likely to change.

Could be everyone bar Richmond is implicated, in which Richmond will finally play finals (against themselves) and win a premiership (after several draws and subsequent replays)
Nah we will give up a two and a half goal lead in the last 20 seconds.:)

I cant help but feel this is all a crock of sh!t... The match fixing, the drug taking, it's all being blown up to something that it is not! Essendon are a professional club and they understand the implications of conducting such illegal practices, I will be very very surprised if it gets proved that they used illegal substances. I mean really, the only steroid (performance enhancer) that will really benefit footballers is EPO purely and simply for the improvement of ones aerobic capacity. I am positive that in the off season footballers who travel to do month long holidays in Thailand are certainly jabbing and running cycles over there where it is legally purchased over the counter, we would be naive to think this does not happen. But during the season I really don't think it is possible to have any form of illegal administering of performance enhancers, even so unless it is a form of anabolic steroid I don't think it is an issue.

Up until rnd 11 ,when it all fall apart, you were flying

According to healy, one of the side effects of these illicit substances is soft tissue injuries, which is what occurred to your list in unprecedented numbers.
I wouldn't be kicking the Dons while they are down right now.

Given everything we just heard from the ACC my thoughts went straight to one of our players and recent rumours.

On field performance is not going to be an indicator of possible involvement on this issue - IMO few will come out of this untarnished.

I'll say it again. Maybe if I say this enough times it will sink in.
Subcutaneous and intramuscular injections are not banned under WADA unless the substance is on the prohibited list.
In this case the nurse appears to have delivered "subcutaneous injections". No problem unless the substance itself is banned.

Intravenous injections with a simple syringe are permitted if the injected substance is not prohibited, the volume does not exceed 50 mL, and the intravenous injections are given at intervals equal or greater than six hours.
Interesting. Having just read the full list of WADA forbidden medication, you could get away with iron infusions to boost haematocrit (iron is not listed as a forbidden substance) - the wording re "intravscular manipulation of blood or blood products" seems a little vague. You could give a half dose iron infusion to come in under the 50mL.

I thought when this story started that something like this was what was being used @ Essendon (iron, or vitamin D megadose). Obviously if it is more the growth peptide, then why didn't the AFL pick it up on its tests for PEDs?

It was pretty clear. How dumbed down do you need it?
The quote was "Essendon requested an investigation." Like they were the ones who instigated it. Like they had a choice. Sure, if that is wasn't what was meant, then fair enough, but it certainly wasn't clear.

The Press Conference in simple terminology:

Picture it like when the cops bust a drug shipment and they get on the news and say "see, all you crims out there , we're gonna catch you all." well they won't and everyone knows that.

But that doesn't mean that the poor bastard they DID catch isn't FORKED.

Essendon is where the buck has stopped when Dank was targeted.

Institutionalised team doping.

FORKED.
