What no precedents for two year suspensions for PEds

Surely your not serious:eek:
I agree with that comment but I thought WADA automatically ban players in any sporting code for 2 years on the spot?
I was referring to the call to have the players deregistered and having to re-enter the competition via the draft. A made up penalty that just feels truthy!!

Thats right, the coaches were on the PEDs the players took naturaly occuring tomato juice.
Sure if you want to put it like that.

Fact is at the moment you're blowing smoke outta your ass as you have no idea whats going on. So far the only thing thats been said publicly is Essendon are innocent.

Is that true? Who knows.

But at least I'm prepared to wait and see.

To avoid jail time, or to avoid damaging a previously fine reputation, or to get 6 months you have to not only plead guilty but actively assist with the investigation.

When the net is wide, you never know what others are saying to investigators.

Self preservation, changing circumstances and/or regret affects individuals in differing ways.

When faced with ACC and/or ASADA investigators...people have talked and will talk.
a lot of people will break down under these circumstances and confess to everything that they know. to be honest, i'm surprised that dank was stupid enough to tell the players what he was putting into the syringes. he probably could have gotten away with it if he had just told the players that they were only being given vitamins. now every player that was told what actual banned substances were being used will be breaking down under the harsh glow of the interrogation spotlight and spilling their guts on the whole program.

you know, seriously, that dank is one idiot. why, oh why, didn't he just keep the incriminating information to himself. would have given his slander/libel case a better chance of success. live and learn i suppose.

There is ASADA recommended penalties from zip to 2 years. Then there is the scope for the AFL to do whatever they like under the "bringing the game into disrepute" rule.

IF a significant number of players cannot play for Essendon it is likely they could not field a team.
The AFL has to produce 9 games per week for television
Therefore the AFL has to come up with a method within their rules for Essendon to get a full playing list without pissing of the other clubs with special draft picks or whatever.
The most logical solution to me is to deregister the players. Do you have any other plausible solution

Did he not state that the players took whatever and the coaches were on stuff outside the wada code?

On the 7-30 report or were everyones ears deceiveng them?

And he was lawyerd up, isnt that what i have posted if it is why am i blowing smoke out of my arse?

Im agreeing with you that the players took grapfruit juice......and i didnt even use the sarcasm emoticon when i said it.

Im sure there is a replay of that interview on the ABC website if you would care to revisit it.

So Bambi and his coaches were on the good stuff and the poor ld players were on the vitamins.

pull the other one it has bells on it.

that still makes absolutely no sense. Essendon will need players, therefore you're going to deregister them and give them to other clubs....

Sorry but no one outside of Essendon rates Heppell highly.

2012 - Dyson Heppell (Essendon)
I'm not Heppells biggest fan, but not only do the coaches clearly rate him, to win that award he has to be either first or second year. Don't forget Heppell has only played 2 seasons.

So still nothing has been confirmed by Cronulla ? It is still all media reports/rumors? Apparently the players refused to sign the plea contracts getting them 6 months instead of 24..

I'm not a troll. I'm an Essendon supporter who follows world sport and knows how WADA/ASADA investigation ends. I had my emotional moment when I came to the realisation weeks ago a lot of our players would be suspended and am trying to move past it. The moment was when Gillion Mclachlan mentioned us in he's press conference. If it had been any other club I would have came to this conclusion even earlier but I had my red and black eye patches on.

Funnily enough I still might be in a bit of denial hoping for 6 months suspensions rather than 2 years as that's how these investigations usually end. I'm sure I will have an emotional moment or two when they announce the suspensions and there's no hope left. Listen to David Evans speech the other night he knows that were screwed. I'm going to America and Canada for a few weeks soon so I will be able to get away from it.

Heres hoping my above assumptions and observations are incorrect but I highly doubt it and would prefer to face reality then get hit by a tone of bricks when the investigation ends.

Most crooks talk like that until its clear that they are stuffed, and its deal time.

This dance ain't over yet
Agree - Danks interviews from now on wont be on the 7.30 report and the implications for telling porkies will be a little more significant. Someone will crack sooner or later - essendon better hope that there are no skeletons.

oh yeh, nah can't see that ever happening, 6 month ban would be penalty enough I would have thought, I mean it's not just the team which would then struggle to win but sponsors may jump off in the short-term so financially, the club would be massively impacted.

Still, I haven't read anything new or anything relevant to Essendon since this story broke a few months ago, but the latest NRL controversy seems to have people linking that to the Essendon football club.

No. 2 years is the appropriate penalty.

IF they actively help the investigation with evidence that leads to prosecution , then 6 months will be penalty enough.
