He said they are aware of two cases. The second one being Essendon.

We knew that. We announced it ourselves on Thursday. I'll ask one final time.

Please provide a single quote from the press conference today that says we were investigated before Thursday or that we were the club named in the report.

No more spin and speculation. You claim he said that. Prove it.

Oh I wish.

And the post has been dealt with. But that wasn't the point pf my post: my point is that we're really clear on no comments on mods or moderation. Address their post on its merits, not who made it. If it warrants reporting, do that. If it warrants a barrage of criticism, do that. But don't have a public discourse on a mod posting it.
Technically Beez started that. I just followed his line.

Been able to find where Gil said the Essendon case came from the report yet?
Or the release from the ACC or ASADA naming Essendon?
Lets do this the easy way.

Your right, please go and buy 10 Essendon memberships now for the wonderful year ahead.

*waves hand* these are not the players you are looking for

You spent a lot of time on that waffle. Answering my question would've been quicker.
That 'waffle' happens to be part of the document that is going to ruin your football club for the foreseeable future.

It takes a lot for me to resort to personal insults but you are quite clearly an idiot that lacks the comprehension skills necessary to see how deep of a mess your club may well be in.

Good day.

At present Hird is the leader of a club that has;
- Allowed its sport science staff to administer substances that he cannot verify are legal.
- Allowed its sport science staff to administer substances that were so controversial it's leadership group requested 'consent forms'.
- Allowed its sport science staff to be lead by an unregistered 'sports scientist' that was turned away from the GCFC. This has culminated in the worst injury run at the club if not in its history, then certainly in its last 15 odd years.
- Has members of its staff under investigation for criminal activity.

All this culminates in considerable stress on players who are (unwittingly) the subject of criminal and doping investigations.

Is that trust repairable? We shall see.
To be fair the 'sports scientists' are only in the early years of self assessment from peers, are not required to be certified or registered with a goverment body. It also was said of that self assessments that only about 6 from the afl would qualify.

This area needs alot of work.

I'm asking for evidence that the rumour wasn't started by yourself on Thursday. :)
My it's a bloody rumour from years ago FFS, let it go. His do you propose he proves he didn't make it up? Rumours aren't exactly reported in the news when they are that as big as that and social media wasn't around either.
You're making yourself look really silly here making the same points over and over and over and over and you get the point.

you would hate to be the third one to come forward
Good point. Maybe they'll try to keep that under wraps as long as they can. (EDIT: i.e. not tell anyone that someone has come forward, for as long as they can).

Odds are though, that unless the guy was a maniac and a heap of people new... anyone that was on them would be better off just shutting up and copping it on the chin if they happened to be the one.

AFL deputy chief executive Gillon McLachlan addressed the media in Melbourne on Sunday and said the Australian Crime Commission report only identified two specific cases where WADA prohibited performance-enhancing drugs may have been used in the AFL.
And here we have it:

"The AFL said it chose to go public with what it had learned since the ACC handed down its report to add ‘‘clarity and context’’ to fears that the use of performance-enhancing substances could be widespread in the AFL."

Another perspective that is just as plausible

Maybe we have/are being investigated because of the page 17 report not because we are the page 17 report.

Eg; A NRL club whom Danks previously worked for, could still be page 17 and then he worked for Ess for a period of time so they have/are investigating us because of this.

Thanks, hadn't already seen that excuse 8521 times already in thread Pt 3. Cheers :thumbsu:

I simply suggested that there was once a rumour about him during his playing days, as I stated in that post, it's probably horseshit, but it's out there and has been for years.

Maybe the posters are holding you to their own high standards of only posting absolute, 100% fact and not engaging in, or spreading, any speculative material (regardless of whether they admit it is just rumour).

I'll just look at their posting history to confirm this ... ah ... oh ... well then ... as you were.

If essendon re found guilty, how can they be allowed to play in a comp which starts in a month (less if you count pre-season). If they start the season and then get kicked out it's going to cause chaos. How long does it take to investigate whether there was something dodgy going on?

In the first paragraph you are certain that the said piece of information from the document will ruin Essendon, "...part of the document that is GOING to ruin your football club...". In the second, you say "...to see how deep of a mess your club MAY well be in", indicating an element of doubt in your assumption that Essendon is screwed. Which one is it?

You might have to step me through this one. If they are cleared it means everything was 'above board', it means there's no coercion (and I doubt there is anyway) and that no-one was a guinea pig as they were given forms stating what was going in them. In that case how were any laws broken and why are the coaches and administrators going down
If the substances taken were ok, it seems pretty obvious that Essendon players were pressured into taking part in medical procedures that were non-mainstream and experimental in their nature. If true, I'd be shocked if it didn't contravene AFL and player union rules. I also think that there is a good probability that it contravenes industrial relations laws.

Why is anybody bothering to continually engage in this pointless circular drivel that boncer is posting?

It's clearly designed to be a distraction.

Solution: Don't get distracted.

I'm silly for making the same point? Mate if someone could at all offer me proof of what I'm asking I would've left long ago. But they can't.

But yes fair point. Broken record could be tiresome. I'll be back either to apologise and accept my serve or I'll be back here feeling vindicated.
