But I'm not seeing the bigger picture, I mean, they can call it the "Wild West Week", and even go with a western theme. Every "lasso" can be announced by a riff from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Goal umpires in cowboy hats, obviously.

Really, competitive fairness is a small sacrifice in the name of the Growth of the Game's Appeal.

I can't believe how quickly my tipping point in relation to giving up on the game has arrived, but by god the league is doing everything it can. Even tonight's farcical lasso/ARC shit is just adding to it all.

Just that horrible feeling that the people who run the game care about it less than I do.

Havent taken a shot at your club. Have said that the GF is an automatic Vic joy to attend, before we get to all the tv special games the AFL throw coin at to promote.
Complaining that SA has Gather Round, the Northern Clubs may have an Opening round version and possibly a wildcard weekend may be up for sale? tells me you are a baby ready to throw the baby out of the bathwater.

Its the AFL, not the VFL catch up.

This comes out the same day the Launch Round crap comes out. Makes me think the AFL are genuinely considering everyone playing the first round in QLD/NSW and they know the WA teams will rightfully complain about another forced away game so they dangle the wildcards being held in Perth to placate us.

I don’t hate it tbh. Let’s be honest, the extra week of finals (I don’t call it wildcard round, there’s nothing wildcard about it) is a huge wank and just a blatant cash grab. So why not take that all the way and sell it off too. Then the proper finals can start the week after.

(Though let’s be honest, anything at all beyond a Top 4 is just a cash grab).
