He's worth a punt I reckon, would love it if we picked him up. Lost a lot of weight since coming to Glenelg about 18 months ago and we're starting to see his full potential displayed as a result. I think we would really see him blossom playing alongside his cousin.
I'd love us the roll the dice on Willie too.

Herald Hun is reporting that we might march JOM to the National Draft.

I hope it does not come to that and the mediation process tells the GCS to pull their head in, but if he does go into the draft we can certainly be reasonably confident her would get to our pick 10.

Surely though the blokes who run the mediation tell the Suns to stop being Flogs and trying to bluff the Big Boys.

If we do take him in the national draft then our pick swap with the Saints will look pretty stupid. We'd be better trying to secure a second round pick and grabbing a young kid with pick 10. Works better for the rebuild. Slap a heavily front ended contact to O'Meara so no one else will complete.
Actually that is where the swap with the Saints comes into play no way would JOM last to pick 19 in the National draft, and that is exactly what we got pick 10 for.

If it gets to the ND stage, which I doubt very much, I wouldn't put it past GC to use one of their 3 top 10 picks on him just to prove a point. Otherwise the whole exercise is pointless on their part.

Herald sun loves the drama. They're the ones suggesting that essendon are going to lay down a huge sum of money at the 11th hour and all that crap. Don't believe them.

That would be pretty shit for everyone (including GC).

But imagine the salary cap space we would have! We would get ALL OF THE FREE AGENTS!

I hear you but if mediation fails then that's exactly what will happen but either way the GCS end up with pick 10 only.

The mediators need to tell the GCS what the rest of the footy world knows, stop being campaigners.

Slight correction - if mediation fails GC don't have pick 10 at all - we retain it

Get JOM to nominate the shortest contract permitted and at the highest salary we can afford. Surely no one else has that kind of room. Especially for a kid who hasn't played in 2 years and doesn't want to play with anyone else. Use 10 and SPS or another highly rated player and grab JOM at our next pick.

And then Jaeger can take the Suns and the AFL to court for restraint of trade in a case that he would most certainly win.

And especially if there is a mid year draft as tabled, $1m for a 6 month contract would be pretty ballsy

Then Jaeger can just do a Cam Mccarthy and train with Box Hill for a year until they cave haha

i'd be ok if we picked up willie rioli, young jarman and morabito in the draft. project players yes but worth the risk with the superior skill level.
I honestly believe Willie would excel playing for us. Time with Cyril would only be beneficial for him!

I would say the kangaroos have more cap space than us. They'd definetly take him.

A 1 year $1m contract. If some other club (Essendon) takes JOM then they pay $1m for nothing as JOM won't recover and will play just a few games during that season. He doesn't renew the contract and in 2017 he nominates us and the dance begins again.

What club would take a player on $1m that won't play for them?

We're the ones pulling out?

What kind of stir the pot journalism is this from the Herald Sun? So now Essendon aren't offering their supposed 'mega trade', but it's because of Hawthorn baulking on their offer and pulling out that Jaegar will go to Essendon?

Spare me.
