Was scrolling through the Essendon threads and i saw this
http://www.upstart.net.au/2013/04/22/afl-true-ladder-round-four/
The first few teams make for good reading and good insight as to how teams are performing relatively... However, you get down to the lower parts of the ladder and it seems like the kid who was writing the piece just gave up on trying to place the teams.
He has Melbourne 18th despite posting a record quarter and winning a game that more then a few people had given up on at 3/4 time.
He has teams like the dogs 15th who took 80mins to score a goal.
What do you guys reckon? Where would you place us 'relatively' on the ladder.

I'm assuming that by relatively it takes into account teams like Port, who have had a fairly easy start to the season with only Adelaide giving them any trouble, sitting on top of the ladder while teams like Carlton have had a much harder start to the season

The real true ladder has us 17th, 1 win, 3 losses with a % of 53.1

Can't blame people for placing us last, we have played basically 4 of 16 quarter so far this year.
What was the fourth? I can only count 2 vs WC and 1 vs GWS.

So if there has been 74 completed games against the expansion clubs, according to melbournemartin, there's been 2 successes and 72 failures? Hmmmm.... o_O

The next closest would be West Coast who kicked 11 goals in their final quarter against GWS last year, teams such as Adelaide and St.Kilda have both kicked 10 goals in a quarter against them last year as well.

Hey guys, I'm involved at Upstart - the site from which the "True Ladder" was taken - and just came across this thread. I honestly couldn't tell you why the bloke still has Melbourne last. I felt like yesterday was a better effort than the GWS game, which only had one good quarter of footy. Regardless, GWS are yet to win a game, and haven't got all that close to a win just yet, so Melbourne should be higher imo.

If you're interested, here's a slightly more in-depth take on the Dees that one of our writers put up today.
