Anyone else surprised at Goldy getting the perfect 10? He wasn't exactly prolific in the BF votes although he was rated as BOG in the immediate aftermath by AFL.com.au.
Some sort of weird 'lag effect' which, on that basis, means he should poll better in this year's Brownlow, even if his year is not as good as last year.

Well the commentators at the time said Goldi lifted in that 30 minute period when we were challenged. Coaches probably saw it that way too.

I had Goldy head and heels B.O.G. by two ticks (8 in total) from Jarrad Waite (6) who didn't even register on the votes!! (Highest amount of goal assists - its called being unselfish!!) Each to their own of how folk measure a game but it's more fun to have pen and paper handy and tick off players as they do those things that have an impact, even stuff that doesn't count as a stat. I don't give a stuff about fluff touches. Goldy was efficient when it counted and even roved his own tap out for a goal in the first quarter. Genius. Not that many noticed.. AFL commentators = hopeless.

I might be wrong but does that come to:

5: Thompson, Hunter
4: Waite, Thompson
3: Waite, MaCrae
2: Wells, Wells
1: Swallow, Hunter

If so, imagine thinking Hunter was BOG!

Could be. Could also be something like this:

5: Thompson, Waite
4: Hunter, Thompson
3: Wells, MaCrae
2: Waite, Hunter
1: Swallow, Wells

But I can't imagine anyone thinking Waite wasn't in the top 3 players on the ground so that's probably wrong

We clearly didn't think Hunter was BOG because he ran around by himself all night. Although the stats did credit him with loads of contested possessions. He's an underrated player. Would be an even better player if more direct by foot.

Interesting that we rated Macrae. Another very good player who does a lot of dinky kicks.

Anyway, I reckon you were on the right track with your votes.

Here's my guess:

Scott - 5 Thompson Beveridge - Hunter 5
4 Waite Thompson 4
3 Macrae Waite 3
2 Wells Wells 2
1 Hunter Swallow 1

Don't get the Hunter 5 votes to be honest... I thought Daniel Wells did more damage with half the possessions.

3-Goldy, Waite, JZ.

Yeah, 2+ sorry. But still, interesting I think.

It's good that we're well represented in the polls, for a change. Especially the AFLCA votes.

Meanwhile, in the media polls Juddy is leading Pendles, followed by Joel and Hodgey. Gazza and the Bont are also doing well and Swanny is expected to make a late run for victory when he returns to the fray with three rounds to go.

Robbo has an individual poll at the HUN (because he's the Boss and he threatened to belt anyway who questioned it). The prize is 10 kegs of beer and a night out with his "golf companion". Hirdy is leading Jobe by a clear margin.

Perhaps someone should take Robbo aside and have a quiet word to him.
