Club nominations for the AFLPA MVP 2018 have been announced tonight - Geelong's nominations may surprise a few in the MVP category:

MVP: Mark Blicavs, Tom Hawkins, Tom Stewart
Most Courageous: Joel Selwood
Best First Year: Tim Kelly

I agree and I think most would have had Hawkins & Stewart in the 3, while Blicavs may surprise some because I know there's those who have said he's been good but don't rate his season as good as others have rated it.

I'm really happy to see those 3 recognised - credit to them for their seasons.

And taking nothing away from the other 17 nominations for best first year player, but surely Kelly, even though he is a little older than your traditional first year player, has to be acknowledged with the AFLPA best first year player

Kelly’s been better this year and deserves to win the award, but that’s nothing against Stephenson who is obviously younger and will be an absolute gun, is already so good for Collingwood.

Stephenson will only get better with more muscle, better endurance, and more midfield time, he’ll be a star.

True. Kelly would be a great winner.
Not sure how it's voted, but it is by the players.
Stephenson is a gem of a kid as well.
I'd love to see Heeney win the whole award. if our boys don't. Very happy for Blic too.
