Team news

Fremantle will unveil their seventh AFLW debutant this weekend with Brianna Moyes named in the team to take on Collingwood this Saturday at Fremantle Oval at 4.10pm.

In her first year on an AFLW list, Moyes was named as an emergency the past two rounds, but with Gabby O’Sullivan ruled out this weekend with suspension, the 27-year-old will get her opportunity to run out in a Freo jumper.

Laura Pugh is also an inclusion for this Saturday’s game, Cooper saying her height would be vital to stopping a tall Collingwood forward line.

Collingwood midfielder, Maddie Shevlin will make her AFLW debut when the Pies take on the Dockers in Perth this Saturday. Having been delisted by Melbourne as a rookie early last year, Shevlin had an impressive VFLW season, which saw her awarded the team’s best and fairest.

Nicole Hildebrand will also put on the black and white for her first AFLW match since departing Brisbane last season. Whilst Sophie Alexander will re-join the side, Pies’ vice-captain Emma Grant has been ruled out with an injury to her left shoulder sustained in last week’s match.

Come on Siekman, we know about your list troubles but at least give the girls out there a chance to play footy not rugby. Best 3 players on the ball and back them in. You can do it, I've seen'd it!

Kiara Bowers doing that handball warmup had the face of a young golden retriever frolicking in a dewy meadow lol.

Ok if there is actually a strong breeze to the left of screen then that's a nice result for the Magpies to be only two goals down while also doing a lot of ball butchering. Lambert still a long way off 100% and it looks like they're gonna play her out of the goal square now which is better than an each-way bet as a half-forward.

Collingwood look slow and a little directionless. It’s like they have never had a skills coach and therefore are unable to build a game plan that would make them competitive.

It’s like Eddie spends 20million on the guys and 20cents on the girls team.

Another good idea butchered by narrow mindless afl
Total cluster f..k

Fun Fact
Off season collingwood lose 8 of top 10 and best player injured and best current player injured
Hope
King
Barden
Garner
Duffin
Edwards
Bernardi
Eva
Molloy
Lambert

Anyone want to explain HOW they didn't get first pick AT LEAST AFTER CATS

Let's see

Gws , north both receive $in promo ambassador for expanding markets
Same Geelong , lions $
Edwards will play for west coast $
This enables more training time
FACT

SUPRISED ABOUT SKILLS REALLY

It's been explained plenty of times, but few seem ready to accept it. The compensation picks were based on what one club lost relative to the other clubs through expansion. Barden, Edwards, Bernardi and Eva as well as injuries? They have nothing to do with it.

Went along to the game - enjoyed everything about it... sitting so close to the boundary, relaxed atmosphere, good crowd, some brilliant patches of play (the wind definitely didn’t help), and we won nicely.

Would definitely go again.

I hope they limit team numbers for a few seasons to keep the quality high.

Why didn’t the players do a lap around the oval??
