Just the one game made the fox ratings yesterday

Cats/Tigers 38,000

While it beat both NRLW games, the other 2 AFLW games didnt make the top 20. (sub 29,000)

The AFL would have to be disappointed with the low ratings for AFLW Round 1 on a standalone weekend, particularly with several of the games being given primetime coverage on Channel Seven.

Look at the stark difference in ratings for the 6pm News in Melbourne:

Omg one of the biggest H&A games in AFL history got much higher TV ratings than an AFLW match, what a shock.

Following the opening round, Seven will show Sunday AFLW matches on the primary channel (in Melbourne, Adelaide & sometimes Perth) and use 7mate/7two for the other AFLW matches they have. Like how it's been for the 6 prior seasons (except in some instances of a clash with certain examples of cricket/horseracing/supercars coverage).
