According to the club

Were looking forward to some exciting new talent to join the club across the upcoming period.“We’re working really hard behind the scenes with our new Head Coach Cam Bernasconi on what the future of our club looks like for this season and beyond.
“We knew we’d be farewelling some familiar faces but equally are excited by the opportunities for our younger and emerging players as we enter our seventh season.”

McKinnon, who earlier requested a trade to St Kilda, will play for the Saints in the upcoming season while the GIANTS will receive pick 37. Meanwhile, Graham will become a Tiger in return for pick 68.

So with the likes of McKinnon, Stephenson and Privitelli leaving this trade period the only remaining players from our first AFLW season in 2017 are Barr and Beeson.

GIANTS Head of Women’s Football Briana Harvey welcomed Izzy to the club. “We’re really excited to welcome Izzy to the GIANTS for the next two seasons,” said Harvey. “Izzy is a versatile player and brings not only great talent, but great leadership through her experience in the game. She’s coming off an ACL injury but her rehabilitation is going really well and she’ll be in good hands with our medical staff here to ensure she returns to the track as soon as possible. She’s excited to continue her career with us and her commitment is a great endorsement for our club and for our people.”

Some interesting decisions being made from a few of the girls in their zone selections and if we end up with both Goldsworthy and Davies we will have done extremely well:

Sydney has the first five picks in the NSW portion and has already committed to Montana Ham, Sofia Hurley, Cynthia Hamilton, Alice Mitchell and Montana Beruldsen, opening the door for Greater Western Sydney to select Goldsworthy.

A taller outside player, Hamilton is from Wagga Wagga and will make the move south if drafted.

The Giants also look set to take Tasmanian Madison Brazendale and Gold Coast Academy ruck Fleur Davies, with the pair also nominating New South Wales.
