As we get closer to the AFLW season kicking off it's time for the annual buddy draft for the AFLW team.
Now I have a confession to make, I've only ever been to one AFLW game, so bonus points if you can educate me as you go along by giving your best sales pitch for your preferred buddy/buddies.
There will be prizes*.
** Tonga Bob may pull me into line so this may or may not occur
Now who are the amazing team you have to select from I hear you ask?
Based off memory, or perhaps a visit to the Freo Dockers AFLW Team page, I came up with the following list;
Your job as buddy is to then extoll their virtues, provide emotional support during the hard times and let any one know who will listen (or otherwise) why they are the one to take us to the promised land.

- To get involved post a reply with your top 3 choices for your 2025 buddy from 1-3 (1 being highest)
- I will use the official AFL fixture random generator machine to determine the draft order at least a week before R1 (just kidding, we need it to be random so it will be the BigFooty version)
- Players are selected based on the draft order, when your number is up you'll be assigned a buddy based on your highest preference who is still available
- As per standard AFL rules there will then be 'adjustments' and favouritism based on whoever provides the best sales pitch **
