Scary with the four teams coming in, hoping we don't have any marquees leave, play like we did towards the end of the season all season next year and we'll be up there. Crows just too good, shame they had to the two knees in the game.

The Crows women are a phenomenal football side who play the game the right way.

They are very deserving of their premiership.

Congrats to our girls on an unexpected fantastic season. A step in the right direction.

Also congrats to all of the Adelaide and Carlton fans who attended today. It's exactly what the AFLW needs to take its next step in its development. You should all be proud for the part that you've played in it.

Congratulations girls on having a crack all day just beaten by a exceptional football team who are another level above us individually and systematically.
Absolutely gobsmacked with the amount of fans that attended (54K) sensational effort by everyone who attended
BIG Congrats on the year, hopefully todays experience can be a great springboard into next season 👍

Now we know the benchmark for next year. We have a very good side this year and need to keep it in tact come end of the year. We will get better and better and then next year who knows what might happen. I have loved the growth across the whole comp this year in terms the quality of the games and the lift in skill levels. Well done all girls in all teams, fantastic to watch and very inspiring for young girls and women across the country.

Problem is that we need to give up 4 players to the expansion clubs.

We couldn’t be prouder of our Game Changers in 2019.
Thank you for your support throughout an unforgettable season.

this from the end-stage of the adelaide board gameday thread

"AFL meeting as we post. They’ll be pulling out all stops to ensure the Crows have no chance next season".

and

"They will pay the expansion teams to raid us. Nothing surer. We can only have the four players taken. So they will take Randall, Marinoff, Phillips and Hatchard"

Honestly, if Adelaide aren't raided to some extent, they'll win again next year. I don't think it will be via that mechanism, however. I think they'll lose 1 good player that way, maybe 2 or 3 overall, then another 1 or 2 good players via trade.

Where the AFL really needs to crack in is giving Victorian teams free access to the SA pool (excluding Geelong and North), and giving QLD & WA teams access to the NT. Without watering down their draft hand, they have free reign to pick apart a huge pool of talent, again.
