Only just heard about our resignings, pretty happy that we ended up keeping Doyle - everyone seemed sure she would go. Dallaway and Pease are good news too.

Bonner wasn't included on the list of active and inactive players for season 7, it appears she was a low key delisting between seasons.

Some changes for the 2024 season
CLUBS will be able to re-sign their AFLW players as soon as Monday, in a departure from the traditionally combined Sign and Trade period.
The new Collective Bargaining Agreement has meant clubs will also be able to offer contracts that are longer than the previous maximum of two seasons. In a big boost for players, the contracts will also be 12 months long, meaning they will continue to be paid over the off-season.
Instead of a signing window, the AFLW landscape will now move to a similar setting as the men's competition, with players able to be re-signed at any point, with a set list lodgement date ahead of the draft.
The AFLW Draft has now been locked in for December 18, but the traditional post-draft signing period has changed.

A trio of the GIANTS’ most exciting young talent – Zarlie Goldsworthy, Tarni Evans and Georgia Garnett have all committed to the GIANTS on multi-year contracts.

Another 2 year extension for Zreika, and we can also pencil in a few news.au articles featuring Zreilka when a certain footy round takes place

During my short time in the AFL world, researching the growth of the game in Sydney's western suburbs - she was highlighted as coming from a club that went from Auburn Tigers Australian Football Club to Auburn Giants Australian Football Club.

According to online sources one of the most successful female AFL football clubs that started back in 2010. Didn't survive after covid.

Unclear why the AFL/Giants couldn't revive this particular club after covid. On all accounts and news articles it looked incredibly healthy. It looked great from a grassroots level.

Mens division didn't get up but the female division seems to have done well but may be best left for another thread...

I assume such club closures could be replicated over other parts of Western Sydney. 😕
