West Coast -60 in disposals and -14 in clearances, and it looked worse than that. Considering all the factors (particularly player availability and quality of opposition), it was their worst performance in three-and-a-bit seasons.

I'm gonna have a tough time tipping the Suns (and probably the Cats) again this season. Still sticking with their laboringous style of footy which will eventually take its toll, but maybe not before winning some 50-50s in the middle portion of the 10 weeks.

Carlton won today despite racking up just 99 kicks and 58 handballs, having averaged 142 & 97 last season (and still had 130 & 88 in the R1 loss). But Vescio had 11 disposals... which doesn't sound like much, except this is a player who has a 10-1 win-loss record in games of 11+ disposals (whereas Jess Wuetschner, no better comparison, is 6-6).
