Suns vs Geelong

Coming off a loss, the Suns girls should have the fire in the belly to get back in the winners book. This is a match that we should win but the girls will need to continue to play the strong brand of footy they have been playing recently.

Crows just lost. So win next week, and north beat crows then can jump up to 4th.
What would also be great is if Richmond could find a way to beat GWS as that would allow us to maintain a spot in the top 3 (presuming we beat Geelong on Friday night). That seems highly unlikely given Richmond appear to be a bottom two team in the league and are yet to secure any premiership points to date so I'm not holding my breath. The next two games are extremely crucial for us and are essentially must win games against the 6th placed Cats and bottom placed Eagles. If we don't get at least one win over the next two games then our season is probably done and dusted.

Let's get the win here and get the ball rolling going into the second half of the season! Two wins in our next two should put us in a position where one more win against either the Crows (home) or Demons should secure a finals spot for us. They are very winnable games, especially considering the way our girls have been playing lately.

I think we'll see Kitara Whap-Farrar debut in this one.

This is absolute bullshit... surely with 15 seconds left you would know not to kick it back into a pack and let it turn over....

We deserve to lose this... we are way too clumsy with the ball and keep going for packs instead of players on leads

Hard not to be disappointed after that one. We're now reliant on other results to keep our finals chances alive.

Looked to run out of gas.
A fair bit of travel, a tough game last week, a dollop of expectation, a dash of hot and humid, and a smattering of young players with very little AFLW experience. Probably had to happen some point this season.
On the other hand, Howarth good is she? Clean hands and great skills. Star already.

Got to travel again this week too. To Perth. Might have been a mistake in hindsight the Mackay game.
After sleeping on that result, I have a clearer head to think about our finals hopes. Clearly next week's game is a must-win but at a bare minimum we need North Melbourne to beat Adelaide today. That result seems likely given the Kangaroos' form and Adelaide playing without Erin Phillips so we shouldn't have to worry about that too much. It would also be really helpful if Richmond could produce their first ever win against GWS today but that result isn't as crucial given the draw for the rest of the season. Geelong have put themselves in the mix now too but they have to play North Melbourne next week so we have an excellent opportunity to jump ahead of them in the next round if we can get the W against the winless Eagles.

We're alive for the time being and that should be enough to motive our girls.
