The way I see it...when Tayla contests the mark, if she doesn’t take The mark...the ball hits the ground hard and so does she for the most part. How anyone can expect a second effort after the way she throws herself at it gives her a little latitude in this regard for mine.

Yup, this the reason why she has typically had poor statistical returns outside of her aerial work.

When she hasn't gone for it like that, I've seen 4th and 5th efforts from her to recover the ball. She's a complete athletic freak in the same space as Buddy Franklin is to his peers.

Where I believe they have both mucked up is in bulking up so much. Tayla is starting to look slow, especially if she wants to commit so hard to contested situations when there's a decent chance of it going to ground and the advantage of the opposition. Don't get me wrong: she still needs to get to those spots and make a fist of it, but there's ways of doing that where you're not down on the turf for 20 seconds.
