And while its obvious how much we depend on Roberts, and how much we drop when she isn't there, I think missing Bushby also hurt us. We missed her possessions and run. Her replacements did not get as much of the ball, and despite the criticism of her disposal, the times they did get it, they did not use it better, or even as well. Some of those rushed disposals today, wouldn't have been rushed, if Bushby was in the right place to take the outlet. Because that's often where she gets ball, first receiver outside the contest, and we lacked that today.

Agree with this - reckon Bushby is a bit underrated on here. Not the cleanest player in the world but gee her work rate and ability to find the ball is outstanding.

Not our day - proud of the effort, with Ella back I’d tip us to beat Blues next week

A pretty clear sign that the depth on the list still needs improvement is that, ignoring the Sydney player who went down to an injury in Q1, we had the four lowest TOG% in the match. Boyd (42%), Kavanagh (44%), Franklin (51%) and Johnson (52%). Cleaver, Lewis and Painter played the whole match.

Boyd has had one touch in two weeks so I’m not sure what the point is of player here unless nobody else is available. Kavanagh actually had 13 touches, 3 clearances and 2 tackles playing less than half the game which is a pretty solid effort. She obviously needs to get fitter but she definitely shows signs of being a useful inside mid, which is what she was advertised as before being drafted. She should stay in next week.

We should get Ella, Smith and Bushby back next week, at least Ella and Bushby for certain.
That'll help things.

Can't criticize the effort this week. Just need to be more one touch than fumbles especially for the ground ball.
Also would have been nice to convert a few of those easier misses as well.
