Looking for a big game from a few here. G hasn't rocked up to this season yet. Ott puts our defence under MORE pressure than the opposition does (look to Priest for how a player not only nullifies but releases pressure getting us out of trouble). Dillon has prime position in the midfield but doesn't get enough of the pill.

Hopefully we get Dal's first W here, it's probably our best chance this season!
I think G played in the practice game with the Southern Saints and then in an intraclub against them since she's been dropped, so hopefully thats helped her find some form and confidence. We should be able to break even with West Coast in the midfield so having a big target up forward could help this week.

Yeah our best match last season was against the Eagles. 21 shots! Matin kicked 3, G had 10 marks! Patrikios and Smith had huge games :(. If our mids get it done and win the midfield battle, it's there for our forwards to fill their boots.

let the forwards build confidence against West Coast. Should be like a training drill

Don't think we'll win a game if we lose this unfortunately

Gotten a little better, but they are still cleaner and still bodying us.

I just don't think we have the bodies for it when it gets to be a bit rolling maw for the ball, and when they get it they can generally break through and we generally stop and take it still.

So really needs to just be run and gun really with the wind and F defending much.

Need a lot of work just on footy basics- some glaring deficiencies
Yep basics. Skills are terrible, several dropped marks especially I50, poor tactical entries into the forward line particularly in the last 5 mins. I'd question our fitness levels also. I get it though, it's hard, none it our players on the field are "elite" therefore are not full time athletes and have to juggle work life commitments. But I'm not sure we have the system around the players to have them develop and progress because no one looks a better player this season.

Also a bit stunned at the fact Nick Dal Santo didn't know Matin kicked 3 goals against WCE last time we played them. Isn't that his job?

That and gym work, far too often we just bumped off it or hell, just didn't even try and watched as an Eagle just had intent and did her thing. Think I saw one play in the centre where one Eagle basically held off 3, that's just insipid.

G took some marks which weren't paid. I'd like to see G take them in front instead of above at the highest point, she runs under a few (or pushed).
So many arm chops, marks, drag downs not paid to us. I wouldn't last long on the field with these umps, very very poor. Hopefully the players start complaining more, because we look very polite just accepting the BS decisions.

Everyone needs to improve but the bottom two or three need the chop. Again, Dillon had prime position in the midfield and managed 5 touches, she needs to be out of there. Saulitis should be in and developing, she didn't do much wrong in her first match and got dropped. Ott needs to be replaced, if L.Burke doesn't return then maybe try Vogt or Woodward down there. Meyer looks like a team player, works well off the ball.

We have some capable players, not many weapons. The weapons we do have, we haven't been able to utilise them to the max. Hopefully this league can go full time soon, it might help the lower teams be more competitive by closing the gap in skills and fitness.

I was there. My observations.

*Effort and Commitment cannot be questioned. No contest was shirked and they played with passion. However we are sadly the least skilled side in the comp
*When your mids are getting smashed at most clearances you have to make every post a winner when you go get the ball inside 50. Bar a goal with our sole entry in the first quarter we butchered the footy I50 something terrible
*We do try and play link up run on footy, but when you have 3 possessions then either fumble, drop a simple mark or turn it over the confidence drops and you go back to stop start footy
  • Hannah Priest and the defence were fantastic in the 1st quarter when the ball was camped in their 50 the whole time. If the dam wall had broken it was game over at qtr time.
  • We got some very ropey decisions against us in the 3rd quarter, but we got 8 frees to 1 in the last, in good spots, and time after time our use from them was awful.
  • Some sides could probably cover their 2 best mids when they cant/wont play. We unfortunately absolutely cannot.
  • We so badly need a marquee mid who can lift the whole side when things are down. Sadly she refuses to play.
*Why, at a suburban ground with maybe 1000 people there, does a game need a shrieking ground announcer reminding us to wash our hands, and letting us know what an AMAZING game weve got ahead of us. Its annoying at Marvel its 1000 times more annoying at a small ground

Was frustrating to watch. They tried hard and went into every contest. But rushed kicks, a bit of panic, and WC just kept mopping up.

Loved watching Patrikios last season. Such a pity she isn’t there. She would make such a difference.

But can’t fault the girls for their effort and spirit. They were having a crack that’s for sure.
