Game will be live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.

Huge game for our girls who have come undone the last couple of weeks. Might be able to take a bit of confidence from beating Melbourne for our first AFLW win last year.

Only four games left for the year so this is pretty much a must-win game.

The inequity in the fixture is having a large impact. By the end of round 6, the 2nd and 3rd teams on the ladder would've played FOUR of the bottom 5 clubs. Believe it or not the Saints have had the hardest fixture to date, only playing ONE of the bottom 5.

Taking out the bottom 5 clubs matches, Pies and Dog should be top, Kangas and Crows 3rd and 4th. Then the rest of the clubs would all be on one win. We are better than our position, and we haven't had all the percentage boosters that Brisbane, Fremantle and Adelaide had against the bottom 5.

We would have to play Gold Coast, West Coast and Richmond just to even it up! Hopefully we won't be cheated out of finals because of this.

More footy, this time the girls in probably the biggest game of their season.

Any slim chance of finals rests entirely on this match, and quite possibly Melbourne's accuracy in front of goal. With the remaining fixtures locked in, even the most optimistic fans should realise that Collingwood are more than likely too much for us, but wins against Melbourne, GWS and West Coast would put us 5-4. I still don't think it's quite enough to make finals due to our subpar percentage, but finishing the season with more wins than losses would be an incredible achievement regardless.

Alice Burke playing in the reserves.

VFLW Saints trail the Pies by 5 goals at 1/2 time.

Whats going on with so many girls having knee injuries , there have been so many this year

What about other womens sports? It seems Aussie Rules accelerates knee injuries. Maybe the shorter seasons/training period means the knees aren't conditioned enough. It a massive issue.

Some of the efforts are pretty poor in this game. It's the 1st qtr and some of them aren't running to provide support. Constant 4 v 1.
Yeah you get the feeling Melbourne want this a lot more and we are just going through the motions at times.
Searley needs to put a rocket up them and fire them up!

For the last month I've noticed we just keep going wide, backwards, wide, wide, out of bounds, turnover. Win it back, go wide, turnover. We won't win games like that. We handle the wind poorly too, with the wind there's no one out the back, against the wind there's no one in front.

Keep going wide and lose. Or go through the middle and we might lose, but at least we'll score more. We fart around with it which isn't condusive to the womens game, more like they're being coached like men. Keep it simple, like wet weather footy, through the middle and always forward. Leigh Matthews would berate any of his players for going backwards. I really like Peta, but the coaching has been terrible recently.

And Griesler needs to use her body, push off, guard space. When she rarely does that she's great, otherwise the oppenent(s) right there spoils or causes G to fumble endlessly.

Also the umpiring is baaaad.

There were too many expectations put on this side pre-season. Sad truth is they are still a bottom 3 team made to look very ordinary againstthe good sides

Badly need some elite talent. Endeavour great but skills often lamentable.
I dont think even the endeavour was there in the 1st qtr

Did we really finish bottom 3 last year?

Agree

Love to bomb it long to the hot spot just outside of the D50

Not too sure what's going on, obviously the discrepancy between the best and worst sides is so evident it's should be becoming an issue for the AFL.

Smashed two weeks on the trot. Season I think is over, although not quite mathematically yet. But our percentage took another hammering tonight and we've got 3 games to go.
