Need to get back on the winners list on Saturday, girls have been in pretty poor form against some good sides admittedly.

Win here will have us 3-4 with 2 games left...finals are pretty much out of reach but a win would be nice regardless.

Also our last home game for the year so if anyone is on the fence about going - go! Won't see another game at Moorabbin for a year.

As the fixture has been ridiculously unbalanced I thought I would find the real ladder without all the bottom five team beltings:

Coll 251.6% 16
Adel 141.7% 8
Kang 114.1% 8
Melb 103.1% 8
WB 84.0% 8
Frem 150.0% 4
Bris 98.3% 4
Carl 93.3% 4
Stk 43.7% 4

All counts for zip though.

Apart from Collingwood being far above all this season, the rest are pretty even on any given day. The bottom teams get to play each other at least twice more in the final rounds, and the Saints get to play the Pies... if we lose to GWS this week then we could finish the season last! More likely Richmond and GWS go above us, even West Coast if they thump Geelong this week. We looked good in round 1, it's been downhill since.

The fact that Freo and Brisbane have played four of the bottom five, and the Crows three, it's a blight on the season/finals. They make up the top 4 ffs!

Anyone got an update on Poppy Kelly?
I felt like she gave us a good ruck contest all last year, but haven't seen her this year?

I said last week that we lack physicality. Absolutely spanked in the air and on the ground. And again we won't score going wide all the time. We don't want to win the ball, and when we do we lack composure. Use our bodies more, push, shove, shephard etc...

Very lightweight team. Hope the late entrant clubs get some extra help.

And like most weeks, the umpires lack common sense. We tackle GWS player legally, then GWS pulls her body around to face the turf carrying the Saints tackler onto her back... free paid to GWS. Very thick umpiring.

Sheesh. There are a lot of holes, and massive room for improvement. Our body work is the worst. Tactically bad, lacking gamesmanship.

But Smith will be a star, she's one of the smartest players out there.

Yet another game where I don't see a lot of team system. Many of our players are very poor below their knees. A lot of work to do with the list and coaching.

Commentators talking about Greiser. Well she won't get much ball standing on the boundary side of her opponent, and when she gets it she chips it wide 10 metres to an outnumbered 3 on 1. A lot of learning to do. Not using any of her weapons.

Yeah, watching that, admittedly TV as not making that trip...

Initial was great, tap to clearance was spot on, so that set up is brilliant.
Rest of it was utter garbage by stick figures.

All well and good to chase that arse and be all "lookit muh tackling" but that's largely because inside, outside after the initial, that bed was shat good and proper. Yeah it's not great, yeah you end up on your arse more often than not and yes, pigskin + water = concrete (Kilmore still had great pastries despite s**t weather) but when your "strength" is spread and run and you need to be hard, you need to dig in and just hack it together as much as anything, we are so far off it.

Poor execution of poor ideas and bodies not up to the physicality at present.

That "gap" both internally with us and competition wide is disgusting.

We have a long way to go.

Defence is very poor. They get out marked and pushed aside far to easily.

We lack strength around the contest and have far to many passengers.

Greiser is the epitome of “looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane”. Doesn’t work any where near hard enough.

Lots of work to do over the off season for Searle and her team. We’re a mile behind the good sides.

We've fallen below Richmond on the ladder by percentage, and will ne a game behind them next week - they have WC at home while we are going to lose by 60+ to Collingwood.

Means we will get the 2nd Victorian pick in the draft and get one of Charlie Rowbottom or Georgie Prespakis.
