Game Day AFLW Round 8, 2025: West Coast vs Collingwood

West Coast v Collingwood at Mineral Resources Park, 3:05pm AWST

Last time they met: West Coast 5.6 (36) def. Collingwood 3.1 (19), week four 2024

This weeks match against the pies represents a genuine opportunity to put one hand solidly on a finals spot for the first time in our AFLW history. After crushing GWS while battling a flu going through the group I'm hopeful our girls can back up that effort and smash the Pies.

It'll be a tough match as the pies still have some genuinely good players kicking around and will be smarting after getting pantsed by the Dogs last week.

Only the one change for us.

Pies changes are a little confusing though, they brought in 3 forwards, 2 of which haven't kicked a single goal this year.

This should be a cracking match and a must watch for the faithful to hopefully see our girls lock in that top 8 spot (for now).

Pies are an odd one, super hot and cold. Hung with Hawthorn and Melbourne for a huge portion of the game, but then turn around and get destroyed by the Dogs or barely scrape past GWS.

This is their first game outside of Melbourne all year and their first trip to Perth since 2022, so I’m hoping the travel just completely wipes them and we can go about our business, but I’m not so sure.

Another like last week that simply has to be a non negotiable W by hook or by crook if we want to keep pushing for finals.

So as long as we are close we are OK.

We're a notoriously slow starter it would seem this season, ideally we'll work on that and start stringing together some 4 quarter games of footy. But we always come home strong AF so we've just gotta stick with em.
