I enjoyed this Scott Gowans interview.
30 mins,
He talks about the role club culture played in his move to the Swans (Brett Kirk), his approach to building the list
His background on coaching, his disappointments,
Swans only visited Montana at home for pre-draft talks, then later Sofia.
Neither girl knew the other would nominate NSW.
Montana wants to play all games but as still studying high school there needs to be a balance between school and study.
Current academy girls have kicking and marking skills but will need match-type experience.
Believes within 2 years that Swans will be drafting NSW girls.

U2 fan so girls likely will get U2 lyrics as part of his motivation talks :)

Hoping first game at North Sydney will be a sell out crowd.

Sydney Swans AFLW Head Coach Scott Gowans said the night was a special one for the side, highlighting the bond between the womens and mens programs.

"I think the atmosphere here sets it up nicely to give the girls a feel of what it might be like," Gowans said.

"The process is trying to make them imagine and feel what it's like to play in front of crowds and at big stadiums, which a lot haven't experienced, so this will help achieve that. Tonight is a really special event."

"The branding around the SCG, the night is a beautiful night and nice and still so to be able to showcase their skills. A part of the Sydney Swans culture is a real family-type atmosphere so we are really lucky tonight embraces that." Gowans added.

AS SYDNEY settles into life with its first AFLW team, it has become the ultimate family club, largely by design.

Boasting three sets of siblings across its women's and men's programs, the Swans have also become the first club to enjoy a mother-son connection in an official capacity. Bron Gulden, mother of Errol from the AFL team, and Adam from the VFL side, has come on board as the defensive assistant coach of the AFLW team.
...
At a club that is famous for its culture, the drawcard for prospective players and staff, all these recruiting decisions have played a big hand.

"It's obviously got a real family feel about and I think it definitely does impact the culture," Errol Gulden said.

"The club's been really big on that we are one club. It's not the men's and the women's, it's the Sydney Swans."
