The purpose is the profit motive. Less product for the same price will be the goal. Market to the kids because they're the next generation of consumers. I think I even saw a newspaper front page lauding it as 'the fantastic future of our game' or something similar.

I was excited because footy's back, sat for about five minutes and walked away to do the dishes. I thought it sucked. I'm glad Xavier didn't spruik it this time.

The sooner the next four weeks is done, the better.

Assuming this is just to showcase a game that will be played at some stage, who is meant to be playing? Surely this isn't the format they want to go with long term with current players being the focus.
