If it were aimed at an International audience or a non-footy audience then it might get traction, but its failed to grab any of my interest.

Has me wondering if this is the eventual goal. This hemisphere (at least the US and Canada) lacks venues that are expansive enough for real footy and hold an audience. Maybe planning to use this format to raise awareness. Not sure it's a good plan, but...

That seemed to be the narrative last year. This year it wasn't really mentioned, in favour of "a bit of fun and good for the kids". So, dunno.

Reckon Tim Paine might be a fan of rock/paper/scissors replacing the coin toss though. He should campaign the ICC
