If we lose any players through injury due to this bullshit, I'll be pissed. This is complete and utter stupidity.

Someone obviously thinks AFL can be played in the same way as rugby sevens. The two are totally different sports, rugby sevens comes as close to a non-contact sport you can see due to offside rules. Like everyone else my worry with this is there could be injuries before the season has even started. But not just impact injuries, if the game is as fast as to be expected players will not be able to stay on the field for long and serious hamstring injuries could be a real possibility.
I hope I'm wrong but I don't think someone's really thought this through. Having said that I'll probably be one of the first at Hindmarsh.

X!!! Rearrange the whole game...

I am interested in seeing it being played because it will be played in China and other countries where it's hard to find ovals to play a proper game on. Its how the game will go international and will one day be like Rugby 7's is to the 15's game.

I'm not interested in watching Port or other AFL top players play. Let the Magpies 15 contracted players play or the rookies plus the bottom 8 or so players on the main list.

Why not play by the International Rules, then?

Besides, every cricket nation would have grounds for a proper game of Footy.

What does the X stand for?

Ten, since teams have 10 players each. Probably chosen over "10 Footy" or "AFL 10" because 'X' is linked to "extreme" in English. It looks cooler, I suppose.

Gremio, you are an incredible sudden addition to the PAFC faithful on BigFooty. But please mate calm down.

The ‘X’ is designed to keep the on-field contingent flexible internationally.

In Australia the AFL has decided to start with seven, as it lines up with the proven short format for Rugby.

In Hong Kong and China, when we get it going, it will be eight. 8 is a lucky number in China, 7 is bad.

In Brazil it will be eleven, same as soccer. Not ‘football’ ... soccer.

In Italy it will be zero. They can’t even play soccer there.

F - JOHNSON MARSHALL

M - FRAMPTON ATLEY SNELLING

D - MCKENZIE LEINERT

INT - L.THOMAS TRENGOVE DREW

Assuming we do end up getting Thomas thats the side id field.

No KPD which could hurt and no need to play any locks in our best 22, although i think Marshall should play come round one recon well benefit from the experience and getter better with every opportunity.

Cricket ovals around the world tend to be smaller than in Australia so those ovals fence to fence tend to be in the 120m~140m x 100m~130m which is too small for game of 18 a side.
