Does anyone have any idea what our team is going to look like for AFLX? I just realised how close it is.

I think you'll see us lining up in a 4-4-1-1 with a defensive pivot in midfield.Does anyone have any idea what our team is going to look like for AFLX? I just realised how close it is.

In all seriousness, I think they'll eschew a traditional ruck player, and probably operate a fairly small midfield with maybe one tall marking target who can ruck a bit, and a defender to match up on the opposition's counter part.
People who I don't see playing these matches: Jones, ASOS, Ed, Lang, Wright, Charlie, Weitering, Cripps, McKay, Murphy, Simpson, Kerridge, Marchbank, Plowman, Lobbe, Rowe, Docherty, Thomas.
Likely starting 8 (IMO):
Levi, Shaw, Mullet, Dow, McDaid, Macreadie, Garlett, Kennedy
Strikerless formation? It's been done before...Do you need a forward? Just setup a wall to block and Shepphard, handball back to the kicker, and bang! As long he isn’t Ray Finkle, it’s a goal.

Yeah, looks pretty spot on, a few fringe players plus youth (plus Levi). From the sound of his time trial efforts, you would think that O'Brien would be well and truly in the mix for some early AFL games this season, he would be another name I would throw in here.I think you'll see us lining up in a 4-4-1-1 with a defensive pivot in midfield.

I just named 8 as I thought that was the starting number (it's actually 7 with 3 on the bench), but yeah he'd be a chance. The benefit of this comp is it might be a nice introduction for 1st and 2nd year players.Yeah, looks pretty spot on, a few fringe players plus youth (plus Levi). I have just realised how little i know about this.
Anyone have a summary of how this works ?
Not really , not sure why the AFL is doing this.Ok so is anyone "excited" about AFLX starting at the end of next week?
As long as the Blues win it should be okay ! How long do the games go for ?Ok so is anyone "excited" about AFLX starting at the end of next week?
Nup I'm excited about AFLX 2.0, especially the extra two points from shots from the free throw line when the 4th linesman rings the blue bell.Ok so is anyone "excited" about AFLX starting at the end of next week?
I think that's been canvased at the last coach's meeting, along with rebound ace, but they're going to stick with grass for another season and see how this round of changes plays out.on ice?
If anyone gets injured playing this T20 knock off, I'm going to piss and moan like an impotent jerk and turn around and take it up the tailpipe.
I nominate BLUEALLTHRU to be this board's designated AFLX watcher. Expect a full debrief on the following Monday.Maybe a dud, kick and a giggle! Maybe the beginning of something big. I'll be an interested watcher.Maybe the only one too, from the way this thread is travelling.
An opportunity for my MULTIBALL idea perhaps??!Nup I'm excited about AFLX 2.0, especially the extra two points from shots from the free throw line when the 4th linesman rings the blue bell.
That, and the hurling sticks being brought into the mix. The game desperately needs structural change.
