Seriously, who would captain this side? Kerridge may be the most experienced guy for us and I can't see Lobbe in that role.
Maybe a young gun like Marchy or a Lamb-type? Most clubs are going in with an obvious pick, but not us.

Nobody from the Leadership Group in the squad - I reckon your two suggestions are pretty much spot on.
Kerridge is likely to end up being a leadership figure in the VFL squad, and Marchy is one of the more senior young guys in this line-up with some leadership credentials. Both make sense, and I'd be happy to see them take the reins for a game each.
The rest are either too young or new to the club this year and therefore unlikely to be given a leadership gig.
All that being said, I suspect our focus will be less on a single leader running the show, and more on clear communication and synergy between the group as a whole.

He was joint VC at Port. I'm just not sure how much gametime a ruck is going to get, as I think stoppages and ball ups will be few and far between.

In all honesty, I know he has leadership credentials but haven't heard too much about his impact at the club so would surprise me to get that gig over more experienced Blues - regardless of age.
All this said, AFLX is a bit of fun for the players so doesn't really matter.
Weird that AFL members have to pay to get in. Can go to a prelim final for free but not this...
Yeah, you'd reckon they'd be desperate to fill the stadium, or at least have someone come watch.

Ooooh goody. Flashy things that light up when morons need to know something has happened.
Game only goes for 20 minutes. People obviously have the attention span of a crayon if they cannot concentrate for that long.

Really looking forward to AFLX.
Will showcase all the skills of AFL footy minus congestion. Brings all the lighter more skilled exciting players together. Initially younger players for sure but if a success and right prize, can see it including bigger names.
This sport is the best spectacle in the world except if it gets bogged down in stoppages.
Hopefully and eventually will provide the AFL head office with all the data they need to guide the full format series in terms of a great spectacle. Fast, furious but free wheeling 1 on 1 footy.
There is a risk 1-on-1s don't develop in AFLX as it might go down the keepy off route but hoping that is not the case.

Every year the MCG staff seemingly need to re-learn that the brightness needs to be turned down. Every year I start losing track of the footy until they do.

People asking who the captain will be. The water boy can be the captain as far as I care. It is a nothing game that will purely be used to get some miles into some of the boys and too see what some of the boys who don’t have much senior exposure can do. Plus with 10 minute halves, by the time the captain works out what is going on they have stopped play.
